Amazon is looking for a highly-motivated Jr. Software Development Engineer (SDE)!

Jr. SDEs write real software and collaborate with experienced software engineers who provide guidance and opportunities for ownership on projects that matter to our customers. As a year-round intern, Jr. SDEs become fully integrated into their teams and regularly contribute to impactful deliverables. Your design and code will contribute to solving some of Amazon´s most complex technical challenges.

The Jr. SDE role is part of Amazon´s Jr Developer Program - a year-round internship opportunity that offers a symbiotic relationship between work and school. Jrs. receive 1:1 mentoring throughout their time in the program, receiving guidance and insight from a full-time Amazonian on their team. Because of the internship´s extended tenure, our Jrs. become immersed in an Amazon team and gain real-life technical experience. Flexible part-time schedules during the school year and full-time employment over the summer creates an environment where students can succeed in both their work and their education. Madrid has a growing population of Jrs, allowing for deep connections with fellow students engaged in similar roles.

Upon successful completion of the Jr. Developer Program, the opportunity for full-time employment may be available at our Amazon corporate site located in Madrid Spain.

Role Highlights:

- Part-time work during the school year (16 hours/week)

- Full-time work during the summer (40 hours/week)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor´s or Master´s degree program.

- Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field.

- Graduating between December 2026 and December 2027.

- Ability to work year-round until graduation (part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer).

- Living within commutable distance to Madrid, Spain and able to work in-person year-round.

- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object-oriented design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous technical internship(s), if applicable.

- Data structures, algorithms, or discrete structures coursework.

- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

- Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.

Role Overview:

As a Front-End Software Engineer, you will be joining a team focused on ensuring that our gaming products are highly resilient, extremely low latency and scalable to massive volume, all while providing a first-class customer experience. With a great understanding of the modern architectural and engineering practices that underpin highly successful distributed transactional solutions, your team will work hand-in-glove with the Product Managers to design, build, deliver and run our gaming platforms and products. 

Sharing your team's passion for automation and producing thoroughly tested and high-quality services and you will leave no stone unturned to help drive the company's success. 

Part of our rapidly growing Tech team, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in taking the KingMakers products to the next level.

What you will be doing:   

• Design it: ensure that everything is designed not just for now, but for the growth of years to come  
• Build it: deliver great solutions that are proven to meet the needs of the Product Managers and Product Designers as well as your colleagues in Support and Operations  
• Test it: be accountable for your own testing and for the overall quality of your output, you'll make sure testing happens fast, frequently and effectively  
• Run it: check that everything is working as expected and go hunting for problems to solve, to constantly improve the solution 
• Document Everything: make sure we have top class and up to date technical and use case documentation 
• Mentor and coach: support and help onboard and train the less experienced members of the team 
• Collaborate: engage with other teams and users across the company to identify ways to improve and build upon the capabilities of the Platform  

What you need for this role:  

• Extensive experience in web development, using  HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript
• Production experience with any of the modern web frameworks, such as React (Next.JS), Angular or Vue
• Comfortable working with JS tools and ecosystem, like NodeJS, NPM or Yarn, webpack, Rollup, Grunt, ESLint
• Strong fundamental knowledge in Front End development, understanding how browsers work and performance best practices in modern web apps
• Experience with headless content management systems like Strapi or Umbraco is a plus
• Proficient in Git (we use GitHub and Azure DevOps)
• Good understanding of CI/CD principles
• Experience working with data fetching via RESTful APIs or GraphQL
• Experience writing tests (unit, integration, E2E) and documentation, using tools like Cypress or Storybook
• Experience with Docker is a plus
• Experience with backend languages (C#, Java, Python) is a plus
• Experience with cloud services like Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus
• A passion for detail and problem solving, with excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Hyper-growth start-up experience is a strong plus

Contrato inicial de 3 meses a través de Adecco con posibilidades de contratación indefinida por parte de la empresa.
