Client and Distribution Leaders (CDL’s) are highly experienced in actively managing and expanding client and broker relationships. Their primary purpose is to accelerate profitable sales growth and retention by supporting underwriting in achieving their profitability targets.Through their market management efforts and the delivery of high quality and original solutions, they enhance the reputation of AXA XL’s Network.
In this role, you will be responsible of understanding client and broker needs and matching them with AXA XL’s expertise and appetite. Key in doing this will be the ability to articulate the innovative and customized solutions AXA XL brings to their risk management needs.
You will collaborate with underwriters to retain, grow and achieve targeted financial business ratios while maintaining the highest levels of account service.
Strengthening the quality of relationships with AXA XL brokers and clients, you will develop a pipeline of opportunities for AXA XL’s underwriting units, ensuring that clients get best in class services, monitor customer satisfaction and make sure AXA XL acts accordingly.
This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime.
What You’ll Be DOING
What will your essential responsibilities include?
Key metrics for the relevant areas will be established and performance tracked against same.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as relationship leader on assigned portfolio of accounts in order to retain and growth profitable business
- Increase the awareness among clients about AXA XL’s product solutions, cross sell new products and increase product density where we have the appetite
- Contact the client frequently to enhance the relationship and provide product/appetite/results updates and inform new relevant developments at AXA XL
- Work with underwriting and functional lines to ensure the delivery of top-class client service by all AXA XL departments on assigned accounts
- Develop and effectively manage assigned brokerage relationships in collaboration with underwriting colleagues
- By effectively marketing AXA XL and its products to the broker community, increase appropriate submission flow and develop pipeline of opportunities for underwriting units
- Contribute to the strategic process of identifying, and developing new distribution channels
- Provide regular product/appetite/results update to broker partners and inform new relevant developments at AXA XL.
- Represent AXA XL at relevant insurance market events
- Work with AXA XL’s leads for Strategic Growth Initiatives and Underwriting Managers to support strategic initiatives and underwriting business lines evolution.
- Identify and support the capture of growth opportunities in close collaboration with all of AXA XL's businesses in assigned territory/brokers.
- Continuously monitor customer satisfaction based on feedback; discussing with the organization and make sure issues get addressed in a timely fashion.
- Drive cross sell across AXA XL's businesses, by understanding client and prospect needs and matching these with AXA XL´s expertise and risk appetite.
- Contribute, through effective distribution strategy execution, to the achievement of the country specific budgeted financial objectives (GWP, New Business, Rate Change and Retention ratios).

- Bachelor´s degree in business, finance or a related field
- Fluent Spanish and English: minimum C1 level CEFR
- Proven experience in senior role within client and broker relationship management, preferably in the financial or incurance industry or in similar functions and responsibilities.
- Experience of underwriting processes, insurance operations and knowledge of risk factors, in commercial lines insurance
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in the global insurance market or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Sound understanding and use of targeting, analysis and strategic planning approaches
- Strong understanding and familiarity with local market, corporate clients, distribution channels and competitive landscape
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 360
- Extensive sales skills including presentation, development, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinking and growth mindset to promote excellence and fosters constructive debate
- Self-starter, results oriented and able to navigate in a complex market and organization
- Highly skilled in promoting teams and achieving real results through collaboration across product lines

The Group Finance team is called “PBRC” (Planning, Budget, Results, Central) and is based in two locations, in Paris & in Madrid. This department is dedicated to analyzing, commenting and reporting the financial information that is delivered to Group Management (Group CEO, Group CFO and Group Board) and to external parties (mostly shareholders, analysts, auditors and supervisors). This department is under the control of the Group CFO of AXA Group.
PBRC is the owner of major Finance processes at Group level and responsible for the analysis and monitoring of IFRS, Solvency 2 accounts and analyses as well as CSRD indicators, and for the production of the Group annual report. PBRC is also in charge of reassessing the relevance and content of various financial indicators, adjusting them when appropriate in a cost efficient manner and is also in charge of leading the “PBR” family within the Group in doing so.
Within PBRC, the Financial Controlling team is in charge of the production of all internal and external financial analyses and IFRS disclosures from the organization to the delivery including the release of financial instructions to AXA entities, the coordination of processes, the data controlling and the financial analysis. The team has regular interactions with AXA entities to collect information, ask for queries and investigate key topics, or to provide them with assistance when needed. The team has also strong interactions with other Group teams (Consolidation, Norms & Actuarial; Investor Relations, Group Performance Management, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Legal).
The Financial Controlling team is established between Paris and Madrid, led by four Area Managers. The financial controllers are involved in the financial controlling of the entities/geographic perimeter they oversee, and on specific transversal tasks. This requires an effective relationship with entities and strong interactions with the other Group teams.
General mission:
The mission of the Financial Controller is:
For a given geographic scope:
- Be an effective and trusted correspondent of the entity (ensure an effective and smooth coordination and regular communication, provide support and assistance, answer questions; ensure that the entity understand and applies Group instructions; improve the quality, timeliness and efficiency of the entity reporting); get knowledge and understanding of the entity specificities and business.
- Review and control all IFRS and CSRD data submitted by the entity; control the compliance of the reported information with the Group instructions, timeline and Group methodologies.
- Analyse and comment the financial performance of the entity on a regular basis (quarterly and on ad-hoc basis). Identify and analyze risks and uncertainties that may impact Group financial statements, management business monitoring. Alert the Manager.
- Assist the Group Audit process with internal and external auditors.
- Solve IFRS accounting issues.
For transversal topics when applicable, support on ad-hoc basis:
- Be the owner of the PBRC processes of his/her perimeter: ensure that all deadlines are met and that all deliverables are submitted on time with good quality (no process disruptions).
- Analyze financial and profitability indicators (ex: Sales activity, Earnings, Expenses) and CSRD; compile the data and prepare the reporting at Group level.
- Review/check Group transversal reporting; review/check the press releases and the financial documents presented to the external analysts on a regular basis.
- Define Group common guidelines, practices, instructions (ex: on Life, Health and Property and Casualty reporting, on Expenses reporting) and ensure their correct application by entities.
- Design & set up process improvements in his/her perimeter to secure efficiency and good coordination with entities/Group teams.
- Actively contribute to the Team’s performance and to the success of the organization within PBRC across two locations in Paris and Madrid.
Level of Education Required:
- Master Degree, University in Finance/Audit & Accounting/ Actuarials.
- 0 to 4 years work experience as actuary, controller or auditor
- Fluent in English
Technical skills required:
- Strong business analysis and synthesis skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial mechanisms; IFRS rules, consolidation techniques. Knowledge of IFRS9 and IFRS17 will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint; Knowledge of (SAP) Magnitude will be an advantage
- Good understanding of finance concepts and of the insurance business (Life, Health P&C, assets & liabilities, reinsurance); ability to understand actuarial practices.
Soft skills required:
- Highly organized, structured & proactive; ability to work with autonomy
