Tech Pipeline helps companies repair the mechanical issues in their business operations. Our partner is a leading global firm currently scaling their technical infrastructure, and we help them ensure their internal systems keep up with their growth. We do not focus on abstract strategy: instead, we identify why data is getting stuck or why manual processes are slowing down the team. As a Junior Project Controller, you will help us track the specific progress of these technical repairs to keep everything on schedule and within budget.
This is a fully remote position that requires a focus on accuracy and the source of truth. We work in the messy middle of our clients tech stacks, where routing rules are broken and project costs can easily drift if they are not monitored closely. You will be the person who connects the dots between the technical work being done and the financial reality of the project.

About the role
The Junior Project Controller role is about maintaining order in our technical engagements. You will not be making high level strategic decks. You will be looking at the actual logs of work performed, checking them against our project timelines, and highlighting where backlogs are building up. Our goal is to fix a specific problem and leave the client with a system they can run themselves. You help ensure we stay on that path by watching the numbers and the milestones every day.
Because we are a remote company, clear documentation is our most important tool. You will spend your time updating trackers, reconcile hours, and making sure our project managers have the data they need to make decisions. You will learn how to spot friction in a project lifecycle before it becomes a major bottleneck for the client.

What you will be doing
  • Monitor internal project logs to compare actual hours spent against our initial capacity plans.
  • Maintain and update technical project trackers that show real-time progress on specific backlogs.
  • Review financial datasets every week to identify where project spending and actual work are beginning to drift apart.
  • Track the completion of specific technical milestones, such as the deployment of a new routing rule or the fix of an integration gap.
  • Reconcile monthly reports between our internal tracking systems and the client records to ensure everyone is looking at the same source of truth.
  • Draft status updates that focus on concrete data and completed tasks rather than vague progress summaries.
  • Look for discrepancies in project billing and trace them back to the original task logs to find the root cause.

What we need from you
  • A degree in business, finance, or a technical subject, or some equivalent experience in a professional office or technical environment.
  • High comfort level with spreadsheets and the ability to organize large amounts of structured data without losing detail.
  • Direct and clear written communication skills: we value brevity and precision over long explanations.
  • A habit of checking your work multiple times for accuracy before it is shared with the rest of the team.
  • General curiosity about how software systems connect and why data sometimes fails to move between them correctly.
  • The ability to stay organized while managing different data points across multiple small, technical projects.

Helpful background
  • Some exposure to project management software or basic ERP systems from school or previous internships.
  • An understanding of how ticketing systems work or how technical teams organize their daily tasks.
  • Experience in any role that required regular data entry and reconciliation of numbers across different spreadsheets.

What the role offers
  • A fully remote work environment where your focus is on the output of your work rather than a desk clock.
  • Competitive pay that reflects the technical nature of the project control work we do and the value of your accuracy.
  • Direct experience seeing how large, complex companies use their software tools and where those tools typically break down.
  • A professional culture that prioritizes deep work and clear documentation over constant video meetings.
  • Mentorship from experienced technical operators who can teach you the reality of operational troubleshooting.
  • Permanent, full-time employment with a focus on long term stability and individual growth within the company.

Working at Tech Pipeline
Working here is different from many other remote companies. We do not have long, open ended meetings to discuss strategy. Instead, we write things down. We communicate through weekly updates and shared documents where the logic is clear and the data is visible to everyone. We believe that if a problem is well documented, it is much easier to fix. Your job as a Junior Project Controller is to keep that documentation accurate. We focus on getting the job done, fixing the specific problem, and making sure the client can take it from there without us. We value people who are looking for the ground truth and who enjoy the process of untangling complex information.
