Kraken
Software Engineer CET (Python/Django)
Kraken · València, ES
Teletrabajo . React Python Django GraphQL REST AWS Sass Redux Terraform LESS Machine Learning React Native
Help us use technology to make a big green dent in the universe!
Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy.
We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone.
It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.
Kraken Customer
What we do: build the most AI-driven, innovative, forward-thinking platform for energy management. From optimizing resources to delivering cost-effective, exceptional customer experiences through advanced Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, meter data management, CRM, and AI-driven communications, Kraken is powering the next wave of innovation in the energy industry.
Why we do it: future energy will not look like energy as we know it today. We need to not just think about our future, but build for it. Now.
Our team
All technology is written and maintained by a multi-discipline engineering team of around 900 people globally. This includes server-side, client-side and mobile engineers working closely with UX experts, copywriters and designers.
We follow a Kanban-like approach, using Google docs and Asana to specify and manage work; Github, CircleCI and Terraform Enterprise as part of an immutable-infrastructure, continuous delivery pipeline; and Loggly, Sentry and Cloudwatch to measure performance and monitor production.
Some of our coding conventions are open-source .
Kraken is a great place to learn, work with some talented engineers and level-up your skills.
More recently, we have acquired the green energy start up Umeme in order to bring the green energy revolution to the Spanish market. Read more HERE.
It's in making this vision a reality that we are looking for you to help us achieve this.
Our team
All technology is written and maintained by a multi-discipline engineering team of around 500 people globally.
Octopus is a great place to learn, work with some talented engineers and level-up your skills.
Our technology
On the server-side, we mainly use Python. Most of our websites are powered by Django, Django-REST-framework and GraphQL (Graphene).
We use AWS heavily, employing most of the "Hashistack" (eg Packer, Consul, Terraform) as part of a continuous deployment pipeline. See, for example, Django, ELB health checks and continuous delivery.
Client-side, we use React, Redux and SASS; our mobile apps are built using native code or React Native.
What You'll Do
- We have lots of difficult design challenges to solve. The Spanish energy market is complicated, outdated and process-heavy - there's an awful lot of domain modelling that we need to get right. Strong attention to detail is essential
- We have difficult technical problems to solve. With the advent of smart meters, we'll soon be processing millions of meter readings a day. We need the right technology in place to handle this smoothly as well as feeding data into a machine learning pipeline that models and predicts consumption
- There's a great opportunity for disruption in the Spanish energy market. The big suppliers still dominate, but are not exactly popular. The energy landscape is changing as we move to more dis-aggregated forms of generation, with less predictability, more dynamism and smarter technology. Octopus Energy were the first UK supplier to introduce a "tracker" tariff whose prices track the daily wholesale prices: http://www.cleanenergynews.co.uk/news/efficiency/octopus-offers-transparency-with-wholesale-price-tariff
- You'll be working for a company that’s fighting climate change. Our parent company is the largest investor in solar generation in the UK, and are funding wind and anaerobic digestion. As a supplier, we're helping people to use greener technology and renewable energy, all helping move the UK towards a lower carbon future
- We're looking for someone with a general interest in technology and problem-solving; someone diligent and thoughtful. It would be helpful to have experience/expertise in the following (in rough priority order):
- Python
- Django (or equiv. web framework)
- Domain modelling
- HTTP and REST APIs
- Writing robust and fault-tolerant software
- Celery and async processing
- Postgres
- English & Spanish
- AWS
- Terraform, Packer, Consul
- React and Redux
- Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Kraken - what's more important to us is finding the right Kraken-fit!
- Kraken has an unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. We want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about! Our Group CEO, Greg has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people
- Visit our perks hub - Kraken Employee Benefits
Are you ready for a career with us? We want to ensure you have all the tools and environment you need to unleash your potential. If you have any specific accommodations or a unique preference, please contact us at [email protected] and we'll do what we can to customise your interview process for comfort and maximum magic!
Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Kraken, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. Ukio
Barcelona, ES
Junior Talent Coordinator (Recruitment and HR admin)
Ukio · Barcelona, ES
. REST Office
About Ukio |
We are one of the most promising startups of 2025 with headquarters in Spain. We were founded in Barcelona, and since then, we've expanded to include offices in Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, and Paris. This is only the beginning as we've got our sights set on spreading to the rest of Europe and later to include other continents as well 🚀.
Ukio's mission is to empower individuals to live where they want, when they want 🌎. We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market, providing fully furnished and artfully designed apartments for stays starting at one month. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, security deposits, broker fees, moving/buying furniture, etc., giving choice and flexibility to allow people to plant their roots anywhere 💥.
Backed by Europe's best Venture Capital firms, this year will be vital in our growth as we look to further build out our team, further establish ourselves in our current markets, and expand our reach into multiple new markets 🔥. We are currently ranked in the top 10 startups in Spain by Linkedin, and we have successfully raised a Series A investment round of €27 million that will help propel our growth throughout Western Europe and bring us closer to reaching our goals🥇.
Our culture |
We honor diversity, compassion, and honesty above all else in our team. We've already got a great mix of dedicated, collaborative, and results-driven people and are looking for more like minded folks to join our team. In true startup fashion, we always embrace the unknown and grant full autonomy to our team members to act as the owners of their projects and tasks. We are creators who embrace dynamic environments and take on and build up projects from scratch.
Our team is composed of everyone from foodies to athletes, adventure seekers to art buffs. We know fun, and we always have a team event on our calendars, so are you ready to join us?
Role |
We are looking for a Jr. Talent Coordinator who not only excels at identifying and engaging both internal and external talent, but also fully owns the administrative lifecycle of hiring, from contract signature to the completion of the probationary period.
We're looking for someone who owns the full journey from sourcing and screening all the way to end of probation. That means running high-volume pipelines without losing candidates along the way, and making sure every new hire lands properly: contract signed, system updated, first day sorted.
Responsibilities |
This involves Talent Acquisition and HR Administration for new hires (up to the end of the probationary period). Main responsibilities include:
- Source, assess, and engage internal and external candidates
- Efficiently manage the recruiting engine: job postings, screening, scheduling, interviews, Workday updates, and candidate communication
- Partner with People team members and hiring managers to ensure alignment on talent needs and candidate experience
- Maintain a high standard of hosting, making candidates feel welcomed and valued throughout the process
- Coordinate contract preparation and signature processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage new-hire documentation and ensure compliance across systems and legal requirements
- Execute system onboarding (HRIS, benefit platforms,...) and guarantee that all workflows, tasks, and data entries are correct and up to date
- Report new hires to the existing providers for health & security, in all markets (International, Europe)
- Organize and facilitate onboarding sessions to welcome new joiners and support their successful integration
- Monitor all probationary periods and ensure timely check‑ins with hiring managers
- Document outcomes and coordinate next steps with the People team when support or intervention is needed
- Maintain audit-ready records, documentation, and process discipline at all times
- Comfortable working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced operational hiring
- Appreciation for data accuracy and process discipline
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders or tasks, simultaneously
- A natural connector with curiosity, problem‑solving creativity, and a hospitality mindset
- Professional proficiency in English
- Professional proficiency in Spanish
- Other European languages -such as Italian, French, or Portuguese- will be considered a plus
Some people find admin work draining. This person finds it satisfying; there's real pleasure in a clean inbox, a tracker with no gaps, a candidate who says "the process was so smooth."
But execution alone isn't enough. You'll be closer to the details of our hiring and onboarding flows than anyone else. We expect you to notice what's not working and propose fixes, not just flag and wait. The best improvements to our pre and onboarding processes will come from you.
Benefits
- Private Health Insurance
- Flexible retribution
- UKIO Anniversary gift
- Team buildings and office events
- Breakfast at the office, fruits, nutrition bars, free coffee/tea and popcorn
- International working environment
Sky's the limit for us. We're here to revolutionize your life. Be part of this revolution 🔥
We look forward to receiving your application!

- We practice a 4-1 hybrid model (4 days remotely, 1 day at the office) to balance face-to-face collaboration with deep-focus remote work. We embrace a hybrid model, but we truly encourage our team to soak up the in-office experience. There's a unique energy and collaboration in our new space that you simply can't replicate through a screen.
- Enjoy core hours flexibility: as long as you're online for our team syncs between 10:00 and 15:00, you can design the rest of your day to fit your rhythm.
- Early-Finish Fridays: We believe in a long weekend. Every Friday throughout the year is an intensive 6.5-hour workday, so you can kick off your personal time by mid-afternoon.
- Intensive summer schedule: To help you enjoy the sun and balance family life during school holidays, we switch to a 7-hour workday from June 22nd to September 4th.
- You get 27 paid vacation days per year, well above the legal minimum, giving you over five full weeks to recharge whenever you need them. You are asked to enjoy at least 12 vacation days during summer.
- We will work so that you have a career plan to promote your growth and development.
