Position: Commercial Finance – Intern (EMEA)
Position Reports to: Commercial Finance – Manager (EMEA)
Location: Madrid, Spain or Milan, Italy
Role Overview:
We are looking for a driven and analytically strong person to join our EMEA Finance team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent postgraduate with a passion for finance, technology, and business insights.
You’ll play a key role in supporting reporting process and monthly closing, driving forecast and planning cycles for the EMEA region, and contributing to global FP&A projects.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to work with modern financial systems and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Closing & Reporting Support:
- Assist with the monthly and quarterly financial closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and validate financial reports and variance analyses for EMEA region leadership.
- Collaborate with Accounting and Commercial Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
Forecasting & Planning:
- Support the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes by collecting inputs and preparing analysis.
- Help translate business assumptions into financial models that support strategic decisions.
- Assist in scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis to evaluate risks and opportunities.
Data & Systems Excellence:
- Work with financial systems (M365, Power BI, Excel, planning tools) to automate and improve reporting.
- Contribute to global and regional projects focused on process improvement, system optimization, and reporting standardization.
- Act as a tech-savvy resource for improving the efficiency of FP&A operations.
Business Partnering & Analysis:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to gather inputs and understand performance drivers.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights from data to support decision-making across the business.
Profile & Qualifications:
- Recent postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Strong interest in FP&A, financial modeling, data analytics, and business performance management.
- Comfortable working with large data sets and using systems like Excel, M365, and Power BI (experience a plus, but training will be provided).
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Prior experience in FP&A departments is a strong plus.
