Role Description The Director will provide strategic leadership for SAR Engineering’s steam solutions and boiler systems portfolio in a part-time, remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing project planning and execution, guiding technical and engineering teams, and ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all services. The role will involve building and maintaining relationships with international partners and key clients, supporting business development initiatives, and identifying new market opportunities. The Director will review operational performance, optimize processes, and support budgeting and resource allocation decisions. This position requires regular remote collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional coordination with on-site personnel and stakeholders.
Qualifications

• Leadership and management skills, including team guidance, strategic planning, and decision-making in an engineering or industrial environment.
• Technical expertise in steam systems, boilers (steam, domestic, thermal oil, solid fuel), and related equipment, preferably with experience in energy or process industries.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international partners, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Business development and commercial acumen, including experience in market analysis, client relationship management, and contract or project negotiation.
• Proficiency in remote work tools, project coordination, and documentation, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications are an advantage.
• Experience working with European or international manufacturing standards (e.g., CE or equivalent) and familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work part time with flexible hours and maintain accountability for outcomes in a remote setting.
