Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. The role involves conducting innovative research in the development of advanced rapid diagnostic test (RDT) technologies. Daily responsibilities include conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing experimental data, advancing materials and biomarker exploration, and contributing to scientific publications. Additional duties may involve mentoring junior researchers and participating in collaborative projects.

Qualifications

• Strong laboratory skills, including experience with advanced materials and diagnostic test development
• Strong interest in diagnostic development, biomedical engineering, biomedicine, microbiology and molecular biology.
• Proactive, curious, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to scientific excellence.
• Interest in translational and applied research with a clear impact on patients and society.
• Valid authorization to reside/study/work in Spain is required.
• PhD in Biomedical Sciences or related fields.
• Strong academic record.
• Experience in immunoassays, molecular biology techniques and physicochemical analytical methods

Candidate role & Responsabilities

• Contribute to key scientific and technical tasks such as assay development, validation of biomarkers, prototype testing and data analysis..
• Design, perform, and analyze experiments in close collaboration with the Bioeclosion team and external partners.
• Participate in project meetings, presentations, and reporting to funding bodies/partners.
• Contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, and, where appropriate, IP generation (patents).
• Ability to independently design and execute experimental protocols and interpret data to solve scientific questions and optimize procedures.
• Manage multiple projects in parallel within timelines, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to high scientific standards.
• Monitor budget deviations, once approved, jointly with your collaborators.
• Seek solutions when situations arise that may jeopardize the achievement of those objectives.
