Main Responsibilities

• Establish technical designs to meet Sanofi requirements aligned with the architectural and Data standards
• Ownership of the entire back end of the application, including the design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of the core application logic, databases, data ingestion and transformation, data processing and orchestration of pipelines, APIs, CI/CD integration and other processes
• Fine-tune and optimize queries using Snowflake platform and database techniques

About You

• Experience developing backend, integration, data pipelining, and infrastructure with relevant technologies and tools (Snowflake, AWS, Spark, Informatica/IICS or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or similar quantitative field of study
• Expertise in database optimization and performance improvement
• Expertise in Python, PySpark, and Snowpark
• Experience data warehouse and object-relational database (Snowflake and PostgreSQL) and writing efficient SQL queries
• Experience in cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, AWS)
• Proficiency in developing robust, reliable APIs using Python and FastAPI Framework

Context And Mission

The Accelerators and Communications for HPC team leads cutting-edge research and development around accelerators/coprocessors in HPC. We are involved in low-level networking and MPI research, collaborating directly with leading vendors such as NVIDIA. We organize locally international events such as the PUMPS +AI Summer School, BSC Courses on CUDA/OpenACC, and the Annual BCS/UPC HPC Hackathon, and collaborate in the organization of related international conferences and workshops such as SC or IEEE Cluster.

For this position we're looking for a Junior Research Engineer to assist in tasks related to MPI malleability and HPC-Quantum middleware.

Development of the recruitment process

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:

• Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
• Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
  
  

The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.

In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. Buscamos un perfil con experiencia sólida en ingeniería de datos, especializado en entornos cloud y tecnologías como Snowflake, AWS y Python. La persona seleccionada se integrará en un equipo técnico multidisciplinar, participando en proyectos de integración, modelado y calidad del dato en un entorno de trabajo colaborativo y exigente.

Responsabilidades
Desarrollo de soluciones de integración de datos (ETL) escalables y eficientes.
Implementación y optimización de procesos sobre Snowflake.
Desarrollo en entornos AWS, utilizando herramientas nativas de datos.
Creación de scripts en Python para automatización y transformación de datos.
Participación en iniciativas de modelado, gobierno y calidad del dato.
Trabajo en equipo con otros ingenieros de datos y áreas funcionales.

Requisitos imprescindibles
Grado o máster en Ingeniería Informática, Ingeniería de Datos o similar.
Entre 3 y 5 años de experiencia en ingeniería de datos o puestos similares.
Experiencia desarrollando sobre Snowflake.
Experiencia en entornos AWS.
Conocimiento de Redshift y uso de GitHub en entornos colaborativos.
Dominio de procesos ETL, data warehousing e integración de datos.
Nivel alto en programación con Python (librerías y herramientas orientadas a datos).
Dominio de SQL.
Conocimientos en modelado de datos, gobernanza y calidad del dato.
