About the Role
Our client is a global trading and distribution organisation specialising in chemicals, food ingredients, and nutraceutical solutions. With decades of industry experience and a strong international network, the business supports customers across Europe with innovative raw materials, reliable supply chains, and high‑quality technical expertise.
- Drive sales growth for nutraceutical raw materials and active ingredients across dietary supplements, functional foods, and nutrition manufacturers.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies for assigned territories and product portfolios.
- Build, manage, and grow long‑term customer relationships with manufacturers, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities through market analysis, customer engagement, and targeted prospecting.
- Position products effectively within defined applications, supporting customers with both commercial and technical input.
- Provide guidance on product functionality, applications, and regulatory considerations, in collaboration with internal technical teams.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
- Manage pricing, quotations, contract negotiations, and margin optimisation.
- Support supplier relationships and contribute to portfolio development and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, and customer visits within the region.
- Proven commercial experience in nutraceuticals, food ingredients, life sciences, or chemical raw materials.
- Strong understanding of dietary supplement manufacturing, formulation processes, and European regulatory frameworks.
- Background in B2B technical sales or area sales management within ingredients or chemicals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage both new business development and established key accounts.
- Commercially driven with the ability to translate customer needs into tailored technical and commercial solutions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Well‑organised, self‑motivated, and entrepreneurial in approach.
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
- Fluent English, plus either Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% across Europe.
- A commercially impactful Area Sales Manager role within a well‑established, international organisation.
