Alongside its Council Members and governance bodies, WTTC’s leadership team is responsible for guiding the organisation’s strategy, positioning and global influence.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Programme & Content Manager will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of WTTC’s written and narrative content, ensuring clarity, consistency and strategic alignment across the organisation.
The role is intended for a highly organised and editorially strong profile, capable of managing complex content workflows, collaborating across senior stakeholders, and delivering high-quality outputs such as speeches, talking points, reports and thought leadership materials in a fast-paced, international environment.
CONTEXT
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the Programme & Content Manager works closely with internal teams, leadership, external agencies and partners to implement WTTC’s content strategy.
As WTTC continues to strengthen its global voice and thought leadership, this role is central to ensuring that all written content is accurate, timely, on-message and reflective of WTTC’s institutional authority and strategic priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content Strategy, Planning and Event Programmes
- Implement and support WTTC’s content strategy across speeches, reports, event programmes and corporate narratives.
- Play a central role in developing content-led programmes for WTTC events, including Global Summits and regional forums.
- Define session narratives, themes and formats in collaboration with internal teams and leadership.
- Maintain oversight of content pipelines, trackers and editorial calendars.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, tone and positioning across all written outputs and event-related materials.
- Speaker Management and Event Content Delivery
- Act as speaker manager for WTTC events, overseeing speaker engagement from end to end.
- Identify, invite and secure speakers, moderators and MCs, with an understanding of the global media and public affairs landscape.
- Prepare and manage speaker briefing documents, session outlines and talking points.
- Coordinate closely with speakers, moderators and internal stakeholders ahead of events.
- Manage speaker logistics in collaboration with events teams, including schedules, rehearsals and on-site requirements.
- Staff and manage green rooms during events, acting as the primary point of contact for speakers.
- Ensure speakers are fully prepared, supported and briefed throughout the event lifecycle.
- Handle post-event follow-up, including thank-you communications and debriefs.
- Speechwriting and Executive Content
- Project manage CEO and senior leadership speeches and talking points.
- Maintain and update speech and talking point trackers and shared repositories.
- Draft first versions of speeches and talking points, or review and edit content produced by external agencies.
- Manage and contribute to agency briefings when required.
- Ensure alignment between speeches, presentations and master messaging documents.
- Reports and Long-form Content
- Project manage WTTC reports and major publications.
- Coordinate with internal subject-matter experts, authors and contributors.
- Support editorial review, structure and narrative coherence of reports.
- Conduct ongoing research into Travel & Tourism trends, policy developments and global focus areas.
- Collaboration and Quality Control
- Work closely with digital, social media, events and design colleagues to ensure content is effectively adapted and delivered across formats.
- Manage multiple stakeholders, including senior colleagues, with confidence and diplomacy.
- Ensure high standards of editorial quality, accuracy and attention to detail across all outputs.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in content management, editorial planning or speechwriting.
- Experience working in an agency environment, with exposure to fast-paced, multi-client or multi-stakeholder content delivery.
- Strong experience managing complex content projects and multiple deadlines.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Strong research background and ability to synthesise complex information.
- Experience in institutional, corporate or international environments is an advantage.
- Background or strong interest in Travel & Tourism is desirable but not essential.
- Fluent English required; additional languages are an asset, especially Spanish.
