Position: Tunnel Structures Site Manager (Expatriate)

About the Role:
We are a premier European construction group, seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Structures Site Manager for a prestigious, large-scale tunnel project in Oslo, Norway. This is a key expatriate leadership role where you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of critical structural works.
You will provide direct, on-site leadership to the structures construction team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical execution are met. Acting as the right hand to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for transforming engineering designs into built reality, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct management and technical leadership to the on-site structures construction team (supervisors, foremen, contractors).
- Closely support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all structural activities on the tunnel project.
- Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations (Norwegian/EU standards).
- Manage day-to-day site operations, including resource allocation, work scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Oversee construction methodologies, temporary works, and technical problem-solving.
- Ensure comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, method statements, and inspection records.
- Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with all HSE protocols.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on site.
Essential Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience: A minimum of years of proven experience on large-scale, international infrastructure contracts (tunnels, bridges, heavy civil works).
- Role Experience: Mandatory previous experience in a Site Manager or senior construction management role on a major project.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete, tunnel lining, sequencing, and heavy civil construction techniques.
- Language: Full professional fluency in English (the project working language). Knowledge of Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is a strong advantage.
- Personal Attributes: Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to perform under pressure in a complex, fast-paced environment. Must be adaptable and solution-oriented.
