ABOUT THE ROLE…

As the Cargo Operations Manager – Madrid Terminal, you will lead the day-to-day cargo operations at our Madrid facility, working closely with internal departments and external partners.

This role is key to implementing the company’s operational strategy in the cargo terminal, ensuring robust, sustainable performance, and delivering exceptional service to our airline and logistics clients.

You will be responsible for regulatory compliance, including safety, security, customs, audits, and all operational procedures, while driving transformation, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your focus will be on building resilient and cost-effective operations, modernizing processes, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture within the team.

What you’ll do…

• Lead cargo operations at the Madrid terminal in coordination with internal departments (Operations, HR, Compliance, Commercial, etc.) and external customers.
• Build and manage strong relationships with airlines, handling agents, and logistics partners.
• Ensure high performance and compliance in all aspects of the operation:
• Adhere to operational procedures, safety, security, customs regulations, and internal audits.
• Minimize risks through effective Business Continuity Plans.
• Meet and exceed agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with clients and third parties.
• Deliver operational transformation, cost-efficiency, and process improvement plans.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Lead a team of approximately 370 employees, fostering leadership, accountability, and development through coaching, performance management, and motivation.

Strong communication skills are essential — fluency in both Spanish and English is required to interact confidently across all levels. We value self-starters who take initiative and drive change.

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably in a technical or analytical field (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics or similar).
• Fluent in both Spanish and English.
• Proven experience in operational management roles, ideally within airport cargo or logistics environments.
• Strong understanding of safe and secure air cargo handling practices.
• Experience working in fast-paced, regulated environments.
