📢 Instructor Opportunity – IES Abroad Madrid (Spring 2026)

AN/SO 320 – Sports and Society in Spain (3 credits | English-taught)

IES Abroad Madrid is currently recruiting an instructor to teach AN/SO 320: Sports and Society in Spain during the Spring 2026 semester, which runs from late January through mid-May.

This seminar-style course examines how sport both shapes—and is shaped by—Spanish society. Topics include the historical development of sport in Spain, media and politics, club economics, violence, gender, race, national identity, and the bullfight. The course combines lectures, guided discussions, audio-visual analysis, and course-related visits (e.g., Madrid sports facilities).

Schedule options (80 minutes per session):

• Monday & Wednesday (morning), or
• Tuesday & Thursday (morning)

Assessment includes class participation, an essay, a research project, and a final exam.

We welcome applicants with teaching experience and academic or professional backgrounds in Sociology of Sport, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Spanish Society, or related fields, and a strong ability to engage international undergraduate students in an interactive learning environment.
