The Team:

The Controllership organization is a key team within Celonis, responsible for global accounting, tax, and shared services. The accounting team in particular plays a critical role in providing timely and accurate actuals to executive leadership. This role reports to the Director of Accounting (based out of NYC) and is based out of our Madrid office, where several accounting team members are based.

The Role:

We are looking for an Intern to join our global accounting team based in our Madrid office. This role will gain hands-on experience with a variety of accounting operations as a global SAAS company that operates in multiple local GAAPs. This experience will be gained through assistance with the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory financial statement preparation.

The work you’ll do:

• Assist in preparing monthly journal entries such as credit cards and travel
• Own the scheduling and reconciliation of prepaid invoices
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations of accounts like accrued accounts payable, credit cards payable, and accrued expenses
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of our fixed asset register, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Support in external audits through documentation gathering
• Bring a fresh pair of eyes! We strive for continuous improvement on our team and are always looking for ways to optimize
  
  

The qualifications you need:

• Completed or currently studying a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience with Excel
• Ability to learn quickly, an inquisitive mind who asks questions
• An eagle eye for discrepancies and a commitment to precision
• Fluent in English (any additional language is a plus)
• At least 5 months of full-time availability
