We are seeking a Junior ServiceNow Developer to join our IT Service Management engineering team. In your role you will be mainly developing, but not restricted to, ITSM supporting our Business-as-Usual Stream.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Key areas of involvement include:
- Application Development & Configuration: Build custom applications, forms, modules, and workflows tailored to business requirements across Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management
- Automation & Workflow Design: Develop and optimise automated processes to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen compliance
- System Integrations: Collaborate on integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or integration hubs
- Performance & Stability: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and apply best practices for scalability and usability
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all developments adhere to strict security protocols, access controls, and audit requirements in line with financial industry standards
- Working closely with fellow developers, process owners, and IT stakeholders, gaining insight into both technical architecture and business operations within a globally regulated environment
- Solid foundation in JavaScript and object-oriented programming; familiarity with Glide API, server-side scripting (e.g., Business Rules, Script Includes), and client scripts on the ServiceNow platform
- Basic understanding of ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change Management) and their implementation in enterprise systems
- Familiarity with web technologies, JSON/XML, and integration patterns (REST/SOAP)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities — you enjoy digging into logs, debugging issues, and finding root causes
- A collaborative mindset with good communication skills; comfortable asking questions, giving updates, and working in agile teams
- Willingness to take ownership, follow coding standards, and continuously improve your craft
- Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages are an asset in our international setting
- Certifications such as ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Associate Developer are advantageous but not mandatory
