WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

The main purpose of this role is to establish the Technological and Strategic Architecture to evolve the existing platform towards a scalable and efficient environment, aligned with current data trends, contributing to optimise decision making in public transport.

Your main functions will be:

Define and execute the strategic data roadmap, aligning the architecture with business objectives.
Lead a team of data and analytics engineers, fostering their professional development.
Act as Scrum Master, prioritising short-term deliverables without losing sight of the strategic vision.
Design and implement modern architectures based on microservices and containers, using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Promote and oversee best practices in data governance, security, modelling and technical documentation.
Oversee the development lifecycle, from design to implementation, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are seeking experts with solid experience in:

Architectural design and construction of complex systems.
Technology platforms towards advanced capabilities, including data integration.
Expertise in data integration: o Experience with scalable data architectures and modern integration tools (Apache Airflow, Prefect, Luigi).
Object-oriented programming.
Data analysis and visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Python ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, ML frameworks).
Design and implementation of cloud-oriented architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of Big Data frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop, HDFS) and storage (S3, SQL/NoSQL databases).
Containers and deployment: Docker, Kubernetes.

Knowledge in DevOps and CI/CD practices for the deployment and maintenance of platforms, previous experience in projects related to public transport or ITS, familiarity with agile methodologies and relevant technical certifications in cloud (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) will be an asset.

Your Responsibilities – What You Can Expect

Together with your team, you design, develop, and enhance the web frontends of our Energy Management System – ranging from real-time visualization of energy flows and dashboard widgets to the control of battery storage systems, charging stations, and photovoltaic (PV) systems. You will mainly work with React, TypeScript, and Vite.
You develop, maintain, and document our component library (Design System), ensuring a consistent look & feel across projects – documented and visually testable using Storybook.
You create interactive data visualizations and charts to display energy consumption and generation, profitability analyses, and system states.
You integrate GraphQL interfaces to ensure type-safe communication with our backend services and guarantee performant, stable, and scalable data flows between frontend applications, Edge and Cloud APIs.
You implement complex forms and configuration interfaces – for example, for parameterizing battery systems, charge/discharge profiles, and simulation scenarios – with a strong focus on validation, usability, and intuitive user experience.
You support the deployment of our application as a mobile app for iOS and Android using Capacitor – from platform-specific optimizations to the integration of native features.
You work with internationalization (i18n) to provide our applications in a structured and sustainable multilingual setup.
You ensure the quality of our frontend applications with unit tests, component tests, end-to-end tests, and API mocking, and you contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing strategy.
You take full ownership of the design, implementation, documentation, and quality assurance of your software modules, ensuring their long-term maintainability, scalability, and high code quality.

What You Should Bring

A degree in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Technical Informatics, or a comparable field of study.
Very good knowledge of modern frontend technologies and tools, especially React, TypeScript, and Vite.
Solid experience with state management, GraphQL, and component-based architecture.
Confident use of UI component libraries and modern CSS approaches is an advantage.
Experience in cross-platform development is a plus.
Knowledge of testing frameworks and experience with Storybook to ensure high code quality are desirable.

Our client: Most of the assets they work on resist easy valuation — distressed Spanish loans, repossessed property, the kind of paper the market struggles to price. Our edge is a proprietary corpus of Spanish judicial and financial documents that no foundation model has ever seen, and the machine-learning systems they build on top of it. They are a ~25-person firm that analyzes and advises on Spanish real estate and distressed debt (NPL/REO), and two of those systems sit at the center of the business.

This is a junior role with the reach of a much larger one. As an early, high-impact hire, you would work across both systems — modeling and document AI — as one connected role, not two jobs. What you build shapes the analysis we stand behind and reaches real decisions in days, not quarters. You would work shoulder-to-shoulder with a sharp, multidisciplinary team: engineers, analysts, and specialists in finance and law.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD

Pricing what almost nobody can price

Predictive and quant models across thousands of Spanish loan and property records — asset valuation, portfolio-performance forecasting, feature enrichment, tabular and time-series modeling. The numbers you produce guide real capital, so evaluation and calibration are where the craft lives.

Teaching a model to read a courtroom

Legal and judicial documents — multi-column, table-dense PDFs where layout and position carry meaning, not flat text — turned into clean, structured data. OCR, layout-aware extraction, NER, and LLM fine-tuning and evaluation. You would weigh the trade-offs that decide whether extraction is dependable or merely demo-ready: OCR + LayoutLMv3 versus OCR-free approaches (Donut, TrOCR) versus vision-language models.

You would own work across both systems end to end — training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, in production rather than in notebooks. It is an unusual amount of scope for an early-career engineer, and you will grow into more of it quickly.

Real, production machine learning the business runs on — not a research sandbox, and not a thin wrapper around someone else's API.
Collaborative and consequential: you build alongside talented people on work that matters, not a queue of tickets someone else has scoped.
Honest about the data: it is genuinely messy, and structuring it is part of the craft — the ambiguity is where the interesting problems live. You will have real infrastructure, experiment tracking, and an evaluation harness to build on.

Requisitos mínimos

Buscamos a una persona autónoma, con capacidad de interlocución y atención al detalle, que aporte:

Al menos 5 años de experiencia profesional como Data Engineer.

Tech Pipeline helps operations teams fix the broken middle of their business processes by focusing on where the data goes bad. A major Spanish logistics provider is currently working with us to resolve friction in their internal routing and tracking systems. As a Junior UI Engineer, you will help us clean up the interfaces that their operators use every day to keep global shipments moving.

About the role
This role is centered on ground truth in interface design. The logistics provider mentioned above is struggling with dashboard clutter and broken data entry forms that slow down their warehouse operations. Instead of building abstract marketing sites, you will be fixing the specific buttons, tables, and validation rules that cause delays in their shipping schedules. This is a fully remote role where your work will directly reduce the backlog of operational errors. We do not deal in broad strategy: we sit with the technical reality of how the work moves and make sure the interface supports the operator.

What you will be doing

Audit existing internal dashboards to identify where text is overlapping or data is hard to read.
Translate basic wireframes into functional HTML and CSS components within the logistics platform.
Fix broken input validation rules that prevent operators from successfully finishing their updates.
Walk through user flows to document exactly where a specific UI bug is causing a system timeout.
Update internal documentation so the client team knows how to maintain the UI components after our engagement ends.
Work with technical leads to suggest small, concrete layout changes that speed up high-volume data entry.
Check the browser console logs to identify front-end errors that interfere with API calls.
Verify that new interface updates render correctly across the tablet devices used by workers on the warehouse floor.
