Join Our Rolling Stock HUB in Madrid as a System Engineer (m/f/d) – Brake Systems for Rail Vehicles
Your new role – critical and future-oriented
Join our team and take on a key role in ensuring that our state-of-the-art rail vehicles stop safely and efficiently. As a System Engineer for Brake Systems, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of braking systems—from initial concept to warranty phase—making a direct impact on passenger safety and operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
Take full engineering responsibility for brake systems, acting as the technical point of contact for project management, purchasing, customers, and other engineering units (installation, vehicle control).
Analyze customer and regulatory requirements to develop project-specific brake concepts for the subsystem “brake and air supply.”
Prepare decision templates for supplier selection, considering cost, technology, and compliance.
Implement solutions in collaboration with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
Define test specifications, evaluate results, and prepare approval documentation.
Oversee technical quality gates for engineering and suppliers throughout the development process.
Your qualifications – solid and relevant:
Master’s or Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Extensive professional experience with brake systems for rail vehicles.
Strong knowledge of braking system architecture and functionality, including IBS basics, quality assurance, and product safety.
Deep understanding of requirements, approval processes, and standards for braking systems in the rail sector.
Excellent English skills for international collaboration (additional languages are a plus).
Willingness to travel occasionally to partner sites, suppliers, and customers.

We would like to get onboard a Rail System Integration Engineer - Junior
System Integration Engineer – Junior
Drive the system-specific integration activities to ensure that technical solutions applied within the projects are fit for purpose functionally and operationally. You will start by supporting gap analysis of the project portfolio and collaborating in the preparation of the integration strategy, which will lead to the final validation of the solutions.
System integration is a key role within system engineering to ensure a successful deployment of Siemens Mobility Solutions, incorporating lessons learnt from existing projects and innovation in the process for ensuring system integration.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Support the identification of gaps regarding project needs vs. intended portfolio, including assisting in the preparation of reports that may lead to updates in the URS (User Requirement Specification) for R&D/Solution provider.
Assist in the preparation of test, commissioning, and integration plans.
Contribute to test specification elaboration, execution, and support integration tests in the laboratory and on-site.
Collaborate with HQ segments for integration activities.
Provide support to System Management teams in the preparation of Requirements Specifications of the different systems used in Mobility.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Industrial or similar).
Basic knowledge in Requirements Management, test specification, traceability, and incident management.
Interest in Siemens Products and System Development.
Interest in System Integration & System Test Bench.
International mindset and willingness to collaborate with HQ teams.
Strong motivation to learn, with a natural focus on process improvement and automation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Fluent in English.
Readiness for occasional travel.
Self-confident, proactive, and eager to grow professionally.

Join Our Rolling Stock Team in Madrid as a System test engineer brake control (w/m/d)
Your area of responsibility – challenging and future-oriented
You will be responsible for defining and performing tests for locomotive controls. This requires knowledge of the whole engineering process from requirements definition via concept creation, system design and software development to the testing and commissioning support.
- You review functional concepts and system requirements for software and hardware
- You design, develop and execute vehicle tests, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test or Software-in-the-loop (SIL) for the TCMS software for locomotives, mainly for braking systems
- You focus your work on the reusability of work results in terms of product and technical platform strategies
- You are responsible for documentation of test specifications and results
- You coordinate with other departments and project teams for cross functional test topics
- You stay up to date on the latest locomotive control technologies, brake and drive innovations
- Your success is grounded a university degree in engineering or a related field
- You have gained several years of experience in TCMS system/software testing
- Ideally you are certified according to ISTQB or equivalent and you have worked as an TCMS developer
- You have experience with railway systems and electrical interfaces
- Ideally you have knowledge of railway brake systems
- You’d describe yourself as team player with excellent communication skills
- You communicate fluently in English.
- You are open for international business travels
