Your new role – innovative and future-focused
Step into a key position within our engineering department, shaping the car body design of state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly rail vehicles. As a Lead Design Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop and integrate critical components for the passenger trains of tomorrow.
What you’ll do:
Take ownership of the mechanical integration of bogies and couplers/joints for advanced rail vehicles.
Coordinate designs during development with multiple stakeholders, including the bogie plant in Graz, car body design, electrical cabling, pneumatic piping, and systems engineering.
Define requirements for couplers and joints and manage design activities with system suppliers.
Perform clearance and collision tests, as well as movement analysis for cables and tubes.
Develop concepts for lifting and recovery, including pre-design of attachments.
Plan and supervise lifting operations, clearance tests, and other critical validation activities.
Your qualifications – solid and relevant:
Master’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering, rail vehicle construction, bogie integration, couplers/joints) or equivalent.
Strong expertise in materials, strength analysis, and bolt design.
Proficient in Creo, PDMLink, and SAP.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
Experience working with customers and suppliers.
Analytical, methodical, and strategic approach to challenges, combined with strong planning and organizational skills. Assertiveness and decisiveness when required.

Your mission – dynamic and impactful
Work on innovative HVAC concepts for next-generation rail vehicles.
Participate in both customer-specific projects and research & development for future vehicle generations.
Collaborate with internal design and development teams, ensuring seamless integration of HVAC systems.
Support suppliers in the design, construction, manufacturing, and testing of HVAC components.

What You Bring
- Completed degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle construction or comparable.
- Professional experience in the field of air conditioning (preferably in the air conditioning of rail vehicles) or in the field of rail vehicle technology is desirable.

You'll make an impact by
- Strategic Leadership: Work closely with cybersecurity technologists/architects to define improvement and innovation initiatives and long-term strategies.
- Lead and implement the Siemens ONE SOC strategy together with our internal stakeholders to have a unified approach for Siemens ONE TECH strategy.
- Ensure close collaboration with TI and CERT as one virtual team, further develop on the related cybersecurity strategy with breakdown into roadmaps and drive actively productivity measures to ensure the transformation of the Siemens ONE TECH strategy into Cybersecurity
- Represent CDC in high-level meetings and workshops, both internally and externally. Position CDC during the integration or separation of Siemens entities, strengthen relationships with stakeholders, and build effective feedback loops. Support the definition and implementation of the overall organizational cybersecurity strategy.
- Ensure continuous and seamless monitoring of security events and incidents across Siemens' IT & OT environments. Drive the development and implementation of IT and OT security monitoring to ensure adequate protection of the company's constantly evolving infrastructure.
- Team Leadership & Operational Management: Manage and align with a globally distributed team specializing in security operations center & threat detection in IT and OT environments. Lead internal relations, manage direct reports, ensure adequate coverage, training, resource planning, and roadmap orchestration.
- Service Ownership & Stakeholder Management: Oversee service excellence within the diverse structure of Siemens and manage the complete SOC operations lifecycle. Maintain stakeholder relationships, coordinate global service operations, establish KPIs and metrics, and make decisions related to tooling and service processes. Adjust and update the scope of services as needed in response to feedback, regulatory requirements, best practices, and industry standards (NIST, MITRE, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Financial Oversight: Responsibly manage the finances and budget of the CDC organization. Lead the planning and budget negotiations for the service portfolio, including scope, and provide input for annual budget cycles.
- Project Contributions & Tool Development: Organize and coordinate contributions to central and partner-driven projects, collaborating with businesses, FT, IT and internal departments like CERT and Threat Intelligence. Oversee the development and maintenance of a robust tooling stack to support CDC/SOC operations and collaborations.
- Internal Collaboration: Foster and ensure close collaboration with neighboring teams such as threat intelligence, CERT, and ProductCERT, as well as with academic and research partners.
- External Engagement & Industry Collaboration: Ensure CDC’s presence in industry associations and major conferences, maintain exchanges with other SOCs and cybersecurity organizations, and foster partnerships with universities, research centers, and regional agencies.
Education
- University degree (Master), e.g. in Information Technology, Computational Science, business information technology or similar
- Long-term work experience in at least one of the following areas: Cybersecurity operations / SOC operations, Incident Response, Threat Detection, Threat Intelligence, Penetration Testing or Vulnerability Management
- Strategic thinking and cross-collaboration
- Significant experience in critical cybersecurity services within time and budget
- Experience in leading technical specialists in distributed settings and complex environments
- Excellent ability to interact with both technical specialists and non-technical staff in exceptional situations to ensure correct actions are taken and communication partners collaborate
- Ability to present and explain complex technical topics to both management and technical partners
- Ability to work in a self-guided fashion with the clear desire to become an acknowledged advisor inside and outside of our global Siemens cyber security community
- Strong ties to the worldwide cybersecurity community
- Fluent in spoken and written English, including security terminology; German language skills are a plus.
