The Senior Finance Leader will operate as the in-country finance lead, bringing significant experience within a global, multi-country environment.
Working within a matrix structure, this role requires the ability to influence across functions and geographies, aligning local business priorities with broader regional and global objectives while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and compliance.
The selected candidate will report to the Group CFO and have a dotted line with the local Country Manager.
In this senior capacity, the role encompasses full ownership of in-country finance activities, including:
- Acting as the primary finance business partner to the Commercial organisation, building strong relationships and influencing strategic and operational decision-making to drive business performance.
- Driving and supporting local business initiatives, ensuring an appropriate balance between commercial opportunity, financial risk, and sustainable profitability.
- Managing the Close process for multiple markets - Spain, Portugal and Netherlands.
- Leading collaboration with Sales and Service teams to strengthen Accounts Receivable (AR) strategy, improving cash collection, working capital performance, and overall financial discipline, managing the collection process from Government Hospitals.
- Providing financial leadership and governance over inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels that support revenue growth while minimising exposure to excess and obsolescence (E&O).
- Ensuring full compliance with all local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, with accountability for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting obligations for a large organisation.
- Acting as the key link between local operations and the wider regional and global finance function, ensuring alignment, consistency, and effective operation within a multi-regional, matrix environment.
- Working closely with and maximising use of the Off Shore Accounting Team.
¿A quién buscamos (H/M/D)?
- Degree in Finance, Economics or similar.
- Master's Degree in Finance or MBA will be a plus.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible financial experience, including at least 3-5 years as a Finance Director or Finance Manager in a small to medium-sized subsidiary of a multinational group (working within a matrix structure).
- Experience in a sales company that sells products (not services), Healthcare, FMCG, Logistics, or similar industries, is very desirable.
- Multi-country experience will be a plus.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in managing all relevant disciplines in finance, with solid understanding of all financial and controlling functions.
- Experience in the set-up, development and management of financial processes, policies and systems.
- Knowledge of reporting systems, tax and statutory reporting requirements.
- Wide knowledge of the Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
- Business acumen and ability to serve as a solid Business Partner for General Manager.
- Deep functional expertise across commercial finance, working capital management, and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrable experience in business partnering, AR and cash flow optimisation, inventory control (including E&O management), and delivery of accurate statutory and tax reporting.
- Possess strong governance and controls experience, alongside the ability to operate effectively within a global, multi-regional matrix structure, balancing local market requirements with broader organisational objectives.
- Very high English and Spanish level is a requirement.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (previous experience working with SAP is a plus).
