Summary

The Breakfast Server is responsible for providing the highest possible quality of service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner, specifically within the breakfast area of the hotel.

This position requires part-time availability in the morning hours, from 7AM to 11AM.

Duties:

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with RCMI standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
• Comply at all times with RCMI hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
• Prepare the buffet station for food setup.
• Ensure the buffet is stocked with cutlery, plates, and glassware.
• Ensure the buffet is stocked with food and drinks at all times.
• Offer premium coffee drinks and à la carte beverages.
• Collect a method of payment from all guests.
• Accommodate any special requests made by a guest or offer appropriate alternatives.
• Familiarize yourself with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control of menus regarding cleanliness and appearance.
• Be able to answer the telephone according to standards.
• Have thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departments.
• Perform cashiering functions when closing checks and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
• Carry out opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation assignments.
• Ensure that tables and side stands are always stocked, tidy, and clean.
• Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and all their fellow employees.
• Attend meetings as required by management.
• Perform any other duties as requested by management.
  
  

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to evaluate and choose among different courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Capability to perform well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Effectiveness in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
• Competence in working with and understanding financial information and data, as well as basic arithmetic functions.
• Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Ability to work during 3 weekends per month.
