Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Software Engineer located in Seville. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions, performing back-end web development tasks, and engaging in programming activities. Day-to-day tasks include writing efficient and maintainable code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting and debugging applications, and contributing to software architecture and design.

Your mission is engineering software solutions with a focus on scalability and high quality, working closely with Frontend teams, Architects, DevOps, and Product, to ensure the software produced is no less than excellent.

You have a sharing culture and like to improve your team knowledge base, moving a continuous improvement of the team, researching and applying new technologies and industry standards.

¿Who you are?

• Solid expertise with Java and SpringBoot.
• Comfortable with testing frameworks (JUnit) and testing best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Build tools (Maven, Gradle) and version control systems (Git).
• Solid knowledge about web services (REST).
• Have worked with asynchronous messaging queues and event processing (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Familiar with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to work with several technologies, even if you’re specialised in one.
• Good understanding of agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban or SAFE.

Main tools you will use

• Java/SpringBoot.
• Web services (REST).

As a Senior Solution Engineering Manager you will:

• Manage and lead a team of world class SE's
• Become intimately acquainted with customers’ business requirements, technical needs, systems, environment and service history within your region, enabling you to manage the presentation of your team's targeted business solutions
• Present roadmap, vision, proposed architectures and business outcomes to all levels – developers, architects, CTO, CIO

• You are on good terms with Infrastructure (Hardware, Storage, Network), Java/.NET/python, and SQL
• You have an interest in Data Science and understand the difference between Data Engineering and Data Science

• You know your way around OSS and can prove/show it
• Four year degree (Bachelor's) from accredited university required

• You already know and love core Apache Hadoop (HDFS & YARN) and can talk to the benefits of how centralized architectures for both data management and data access have evolved to separate storage and compute, and the deployment factors from public, hybrid to private
• Solution Architecture/Engineering experience as a field of practice (able to listen to customer requirements, whiteboard and propose solution architecture, and get hands-on with the tech to design, build, and demonstrate real business value)
• Streaming experience (Nifi, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Solr, Flink etc.)
• NoSQL experience (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.) Maybe you can even debate one option over another?
• EDW experience – the Teradatas, Netezzas, GreenPlum/HAWQ, Exadatas of the world
• Integration Products experience (Tibco, MuleSoft, IBM, Oracle, Spring Integration, etc.)
