Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Zaragoza, ES
Data Center Program Manager
Amazon Web Services (AWS) · Zaragoza, ES
. AWS Office
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of Amazon’s fastest growing businesses, serving millions of customers in more than 190 countries, reshaping the way global enterprises consume information technology, and powering the developers who are building the next generation of leading global firms.
We are looking for an experienced program manager with a background that includes project management to join our operations team and focus on building the future of onboarding and orientation for new builders who work in AWS Data Centers. In this role, you will report directly into the local business leadership team and take general direction from a global onboarding program. The ideal candidate will have experience with instruction management, be a highly organized self-starter with a strong bias for action, be able to work through ambiguity, and have the ability to lead with informal authority. This position will innovate how we design, build, deliver, and measure onboarding and orientation, which will improve the experience for new AWS Data Center Community builders around the world.
Key job responsibilities
Design and enhance onboarding systems by collaborating with stakeholders to develop, implement, and continuously improve the end-to-end orientation experience for new builders across your region and globally.
Coordinate complex logistics and scheduling for orientation activities, including managing instructor schedules, facilities, materials, and communications across multiple cross-functional teams.
Partner across teams to align onboarding processes with operational updates, ensure smooth execution of orientation activities, and facilitate seamless account creation and system access for new hires.
Develop and track metrics that measure the effectiveness of onboarding programs, identify areas for improvement, and drive data-informed decisions to enhance the new hire experience.
Manage communications and support for new builders through multiple channels—including emails, messaging platforms, office hours, and ticketing systems—to address questions and ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
A day in the life
As a Program Manager focused on onboarding and orientation, you'll spend your time orchestrating the experience for new builders joining AWS Data Centers in your region. You might start your morning coordinating with instructors across multiple teams to finalize logistics for an upcoming orientation session, then shift to analyzing feedback data to identify gaps in our current onboarding process. You'll collaborate with local business leadership to understand their evolving needs, then translate those insights into program improvements. Throughout the day, you'll communicate with new hires through various channels—answering questions, troubleshooting access issues, and ensuring their first week runs smoothly. You may also spend time working hands-on with new team members, helping them set up their equipment and navigate our systems. Some weeks will include travel to connect directly with teams across your region and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
About The Team
We're a collaborative operations team dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone joining our data center community. Our vision is to build onboarding experiences that empower new builders from day one, setting them up for long-term success and connection to our mission. We serve a diverse global population of new hires, and we take pride in making their transition seamless and welcoming. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners across physical infrastructure, learning and development, and local business leadership. Together, we're reimagining what great onboarding looks like at scale—and we're excited to have someone join us who shares our commitment to supporting and nurturing our growing team
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit https://amazon.jobs/content/en/how-we-hire/accommodations for more information. At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies. A company that serves a huge number of customers. A company where team members grow to their full potential. A company that functions at unparalleled levels of effectiveness and efficiency. A company that creates value for shareowners at an extraordinary rate. And a company that does so while adhering to high ethical standards.
In pursuit of this objective, we acquire and improve digital businesses, not to sell on, but to own and operate for the long term. The transformations we make are often deep—designed to speed up innovation, benefit customers, and strengthen business performance. Here, hierarchy is minimal and teams are small and talent-dense. We operate established products with the ambition, agility, and urgency of a startup. Across the company, we integrate AI deeply into how we work so that human judgment and machine intelligence reinforce each other.
For a talented, driven, and collaborative individual, working at Bending Spoons is an opportunity to learn, make an impact, and progress their career at an exceptionally high rate. That’s our promise to such a candidate.
A few examples of your responsibilities
- Content creation. Leverage AI tools to produce high-performing, cross-channel content, partnering with hand-picked creators and writing tailored briefs to deliver the right message to each audience.
- Campaign management. Own acquisition campaigns end to end—from hypothesis to launch to iteration—running structured data-driven retrospectives to extract learnings and raise the bar with each cycle.
- Cross-functional coordination. Connect creative, marketing, and business stakeholders, managing timelines and priorities to ensure every campaign is delivered smoothly and effectively.
- Trend monitoring. Track social media trends, competitor activity, and emerging creative practices to inform future campaign and content decisions.
- Reasoning ability. Given the necessary knowledge, you can solve complex problems. You think from first principles, and structure your ideas sharply. You resist the influence of biases. You identify and take care of the details that matter.
- Drive. You’re extremely ambitious in everything you do—and your initiative, effort, and tenacity match the intensity of your ambition. You feel deeply responsible for your work. You hold yourself to a high—and rising—bar.
- Team spirit. You give generously and without the expectation of receiving in return. You support the best idea, not your idea. You're always happy to get your hands dirty to help your team. You’re reliable, honest, and transparent.
- Proficiency in English. You read, write, and speak proficiently in English.
- Incredibly talented, entrepreneurial teams. You’ll work in small, result-oriented, autonomous teams alongside some of the brightest people in your field.
- An exceptional opportunity for growth. We go to great lengths to hire individuals of outstanding potential—then, our priority is to put them in the ideal position to thrive. Spooners in their 20s lead products worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And if you’ve got what it takes, you’ll soon be playing an essential role in major projects, too.
- All. These. Benefits. Flexible hours, remote working, unlimited backing for learning and training, top-of-the-market health insurance, a rich relocation package, generous parental support, and a yearly retreat to a stunning location. We help each Spooner set up the conditions to do their best work.
- Competitive pay and access to equity in the company. Typically, we offer individuals with limited experience an annual salary of £47,660 in London and €46,027 elsewhere in Europe. For a candidate that we assess as possessing considerable relevant experience, the salary on offer tends to be between £56,345 and £85,797 in London, and €54,346 and €82,557 elsewhere in Europe. Compensation varies by location and expected impact, and grows rapidly as you gain experience and translate it into greater contributions. For individuals who demonstrate exceptional capability, we may offer compensation that extends beyond the usual ranges to reflect their higher expected impact. If you're offered a permanent contract, you'll also be able receive some of your pay in company equity at a discounted price, thus participating in the value creation we achieve together. If relocating to Italy, you may enjoy a 50% tax cut.
Permanent or fixed-term. Full-time or part-time.
Location
Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland), or fully remote from eligible countries.
The selection process
In our screening process, we prioritize verifiable signals of excellence, regardless of seniority. There are no preferential paths beyond what your application demonstrates, and we evaluate every candidate through the same process.
Some people hold back because they feel they lack experience or have an “imperfect” CV. If you like the role and believe you could excel over time, don’t self-reject.
All applications go through our careers page, which is the only way to be considered. If you pass our screening, you’ll be asked to complete one or more tests. They are challenging, may involve unfamiliar problems, and can take several hours. To learn more about what to expect throughout the selection process, you can find additional information here.
We set the bar high and won’t extend an offer until we’re confident we’ve found the right candidate. This is why a job may remain open for months or be reposted several times.
We consider all applicants for employment and provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities—please let us know through this form.
Before you apply
If you’ve applied before but didn't receive an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before applying again.
Bending Spoons is a demanding environment. We’re extremely ambitious and we hold ourselves—and one another—to a high standard. While this tends to lead to extraordinary learning, achievement, and career growth, it also requires significant commitment.
To help you ramp up quickly and set yourself up for success, we expect you to spend most days in our Milan office during your first few months with us, regardless of your long-term work location. It’s the best way to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates. We’ll support you with generous travel and accommodation assistance. After that, you’re welcome to work from one of our offices, or remotely from approved countries—depending on what we agree at the offer stage.
If the role speaks to you and you’re excited to give your best, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
