Position: MEP Site Manager – Construction (Expatriate)

About the Role:

We are a prominent European construction group, seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Site Manager for a landmark tunnel project in Oslo, Norway. This is a critical expatriate leadership role where you will be responsible for the complete on-site management, coordination, and delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) installations.

You will lead the dedicated MEP construction team, ensuring the highest standards of technical execution, safety, and quality are met for these complex systems. Acting as the key technical liaison on site, you will ensure seamless integration of MEP works with the overall structural construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct management and leadership to the on-site Tunnel Installations (MEP) construction team, including subcontractors and specialists.
• Closely support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all MEP activities, ensuring alignment with the master project schedule.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ventilation systems within the tunnel.
• Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, technical drawings, national/international codes (Norwegian/EU standards), and safety regulations.
• Manage the technical interface between MEP systems and civil/structural works.
• Review and approve method statements, RFIs, and technical submittals related to MEP packages.
• Monitor progress, quality control, and resource allocation for all MEP works.
• Ensure comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and test certificates.
• Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with all HSE protocols.

Essential Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience: Extensive and mandatory experience in managing MEP packages on large-scale, international construction contracts (tunnels, rail, airports, or similar complex infrastructure).
• Role Experience: Mandatory previous experience in a Site Manager or senior construction management role, specifically for MEP works.
• Technical Skills: Deep technical knowledge of tunnel MEP systems: ventilation (Saccardo, jet fans), pumping stations, lighting, power supply, SCADA, and communication systems.
• Language: Full professional fluency in English (the project working language). Knowledge of Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is a strong advantage.
• Personal Attributes: Strong leadership, excellent communication, and outstanding problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
