At ORTEC ENGINEERING SPAIN, we are strengthening our teams to support a major European next-generation rotorcraft development programme.
We are looking for a Rotorcraft Mechanical Specialist with proven hands-on helicopter maintenance experience to bring the operational perspective required to shape the supportability, maintainability and life-cycle concept of an advanced military helicopter platform.
This is a unique opportunity to move from pure maintenance activities into engineering analysis and design influence within a high-impact aerospace programme.
Job Description
You will provide practical mechanical and operational insight to support the definition of maintenance concepts, support strategies and operational scenarios for a future state-of-the-art rotorcraft system.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the creation of the Maintenance Plan Baseline (corrective, preventive and predictive).
- Evaluating accessibility, feasibility and safety of proposed maintenance tasks.
- Defining operational use cases and realistic maintenance workflows.
- Collaborating with ILS, engineering and training teams (S1000D, S-Series, technical data environments).
- Contributing to advanced training solutions (Maintenance Training Trainers, VR/AR applications, digital procedures).
Profile
We are looking for professionals with the following background:
- Experience as a B1 / B1.3 technician, helicopter mechanic or rotary-wing maintenance engineer.
- Strong experience in line and base maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation (AMM, IPC, Job Cards).
- High level of English (minimum C1).
- Availability for occasional travel within Europe.
Job Requirements
- Hybrid position (remote + on-site) based in Madrid or Seville, with possible travel within Europe.
- Candidates must provide an updated CV together with relevant certifications and qualifications.
- Availability to work in a structured, multidisciplinary and international environment.

Training & Simulation Engineer – Rotorcraft

At ORTEC ENGINEERING SPAIN, we are reinforcing our Integrated Product Support (IPS/ILS) teams to contribute to a major European next-generation rotorcraft programme.
We are looking for a Training & Simulation Engineer to support the definition and development of the Training Baseline for an advanced VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) platform within a multi-year defence development programme.
Reporting to the Production Director, the selected candidate will work within the IPS/ILS framework, contributing to the design of the training ecosystem that will support future operators, maintainers and support personnel throughout the system life cycle.
Job Description
As part of the IPS/ILS team, you will participate in the definition, development and coordination of the Training & Simulation Baseline, ensuring alignment with operational, maintenance and life-cycle support concepts.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Training Needs & Roles Definition
- Identification of operational roles and profiles (operators, maintainers, support staff) and definition of required competencies and qualification paths.
- Translation of operational concepts into structured training objectives and scenarios.
- Support in defining certification and qualification strategies linked to system use and support.
Training Architecture & Environment
- Definition of the high-level structure of the training ecosystem, including:
- Simulation tools (flight simulators, maintenance trainers, virtual environments).
- Digital and classroom-based training solutions (CBT, e-learning, blended learning).
- On-the-job training approaches aligned with in-service operations.
- Specification of interfaces between training tools and other IPS/ILS elements (technical publications, maintenance data, logistics databases).
Training within IPS/ILS Framework
- Contribution to the Integrated Logistic Support Plan from a training perspective.
- Ensuring coherence between training solutions and:
- Maintenance concepts (preventive, corrective, predictive).
- Logistics and life-cycle support strategies.
- In-service data feedback and continuous improvement processes.
Standards & Compliance
- Application of relevant standards and frameworks, including:
- S-Series IPS standards (S3000L, S6000T).
- Defence standards (MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, PECAL/AQAP).
- NATO and sector-specific training and simulation standards.
- Ensuring alignment with best practices and emerging technologies.
Innovation & Digitalization
- Evaluation of advanced training technologies (XR/VR, digital twins, advanced simulation).
- Contribution to the integration of data analytics and AI-driven solutions (adaptive learning, performance tracking).
Profile
We are looking for professionals with the following background:
- Degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Electronic Engineering or related technical field.
- Proven experience in ILS / IPS / Supportability within industrial environments, preferably Aerospace or Defence.
- Experience in training engineering, simulation systems or operational training environments.
- Solid understanding of life-cycle support, maintenance and logistics concepts (ILS/LSA).
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (S-Series, PECAL/AQAP, MIL-STD, DEF-STAN).
- Experience with technical publications standards (SGML/S1000D, NATO standards) is considered an asset.
- Experience in rotary-wing systems is highly valued.
- High level of English (minimum C1).
- Availability for occasional national and international travel.
