About Verisk

JOB DESCRIPTION

Verisk is a global leader in data, analytics, and technology. We help organizations make better decisions by turning complex data into actionable insights. Our work supports critical industries including insurance, financial services, energy, and healthcare, combining deep expertise with modern technology at scale.

At Verisk, you will work on systems that matter. You will join a stable, global organization where engineering quality, long-term thinking, and continuous improvement are part of how we operate every day.

About Whitespace Software

Whitespace Software, part of Verisk, builds technology that powers digital risk placement in the global specialty insurance market. Our platform enables brokers and insurers to collaborate more efficiently, process business faster, and operate with greater transparency.

You will be contributing to a product that is actively shaping how specialty insurance works, with real impact across international markets.

The opportunity

This role is for an experienced engineer who wants to take a leading technical role while remaining hands-on.

You will work on a complex, high-performing platform, helping design and deliver new functionality while ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and secure. At the same time, you will guide other engineers, contributing to technical direction and raising the overall quality of delivery.

This is a role with real ownership. You will influence architecture, shape how solutions are built, and play an important part in mentoring junior engineers. Your work will directly impact how the platform evolves and performs at scale.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with modern technologies, and supporting others to grow, this role offers both challenge and long-term impact.

Why this role stands out

• Platform impact – Work on a widely used product that is transforming how specialty insurance operates globally
• Technical ownership – Influence architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards
• Modern engineering environment – Work with Angular, TypeScript, microservices, and cloud-based systems
• Leadership opportunity – Combine hands-on development with mentoring and technical guidance
• Meaningful complexity – Solve real-world challenges involving performance, scalability, and reliability
• Long-term growth – Join a global organization investing in its platforms and people

What You Can Expect

At Verisk, you will work in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment where quality and continuous improvement are valued. You will have the opportunity to influence how systems are built, support other engineers, and contribute to meaningful, large-scale technology.

If you are looking for a role where you can lead technically, build at scale, and make a measurable impact, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features across a scalable, production platform
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Review code, share feedback, and support continuous improvement across the team
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform
• Contribute to improving engineering processes, tools, and standards

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and maintaining complex software systems
