Summary - Basic Function Of The Role

We are seeking a skilled Proposal Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Your role will be responsible for the end-to-end completion of high-quality proposals, quotations, bids and tender responses, which are both technically and commercially compliant with the client’s specifications.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering proposals for a full range of products and services.
• Analyze client specifications and develop technically compliant proposals, offering alternatives where appropriate.
• Identify and mitigate commercial or contractual risks.
• Ensure pricing aligns with company strategies, charge rates, and resource availability.
• Act as the primary client contact, negotiating costs and proposal details.
• Lead bid review, clarification, and sales handover meetings.
• Write and present high-quality technical and commercial documents.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather accurate proposal data.
• Maintain a strong sales and marketing focus in all proposal activities.
  
  

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
• Familiarity with commercial/technical review processes.
• Strong experience in a similar industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present proposals effectively.
