Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in the area of Construction Management with a focus on intelligent resilient systems. The successful candidate will join Dr. Flavia-Ioana Patrascu’s interdisciplinary research team in the Patrascu’s Future Intelligent Resilient Systems (FIRST) Lab, within the Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management. The position is available for a Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 start.

Requirements

– Applicants must currently reside in the United States.

– MSc degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

– Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB, with experience working with large datasets.

– Demonstrated experience in machine learning and AI applications.

– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

– Record of peer-reviewed publications.

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience with sensors, UAVs, or hydrology/water systems.
