The Ndebele Students Association (NSA) is a multi-award-winning organization representing, preserving, and promoting the cultural heritage of the Ndebele people at the university level. NSA aims to advocate for the inclusion of isiNdebele as part of African languages taught at universities, while empowering students through educational and cultural programs. With active branches at 10 prominent South African universities, including Wits University and the University of Pretoria, NSA plays a crucial role in cultural preservation and student support. Recognized by Parliament and collaborating with traditional leaders, NSA has established itself as a benchmark for cultural student organizations nationwide.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Freelance Writer. The writer will create and edit high-quality content that aligns with NSA's mission of cultural preservation and student empowerment. Responsibilities include conducting research, developing content strategies, writing articles and reports, proofreading, and collaborating with other team members to ensure all content meets the organization's standards. The writer will also assist in promoting NSA's initiatives through various digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Creative Writing, Web Content Writing, and General Writing skills
• Experience in Content Strategy and conducting Research
• Strong Proofreading and Editing skills
• Familiarity with Digital Marketing and Content Marketing techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Understanding of or experience with Ndebele culture and language is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
