Context And Mission
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center’ Data Visualization and Analytics group is looking for a data visualization expert.
The group research lines —Urban Data Science, Interactive Data Visualization, Arts+Science Driven Innovation, Industrial Data Science, and Arts+Science driven Innovation— work collaboratively in multiple projects, with basic research and application both considered equally relevant.
The goal of this position is to push the research on the user experience and data visualizations in AI based applications, with an emphasis on the UX part. The role of the candidate will be more intensive in the initial stages of conceptualization and design of the experiences for a range of products: from informational dashboards in a factory control room, to immersive VR or AR + sound experiences for the arts and entertainment industries. The candidate will join the currently ongoing projects and work with the teams from all the related lines of research.
Key Duties

Context And Mission
The System Tools and Advanced Runtimes (STAR) group is a computer system group that explores research crossing multiple layers of the system software stack, from OS, runtimes and low-level APIs to programming models, tools, and applications. We aim to improve the system software stack to support increasingly complex workloads such as traditional HPC, AI and Data Analytics on massively parallel HPC and Cloud platforms.
The STAR group offers a full-time position to work on reproducible software development and runtime system development for RISC-V platforms. We are looking for an engineer interested in low-level systems programming, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), and open-source software ecosystems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and automation of reproducible build environments, runtime system development and optimization. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented person eager to work at the intersection of hardware-software co-design, system software, and open infrastructure.

The Internal Communications Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance internal communications, fostering effective dialogue between employees, departments, and leadership. This position requires a dynamic professional who can create engaging and inclusive communication initiatives, promote transparency and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration. Using various communication channels and tools (intranet, employee engagement apps, internal campaigns, surveys etc), the specialist will contribute to a positive and cohesive working culture, ensuring timely and transparent dissemination of information in a continuous environment of organisational change and transformation.
Key Duties
- Plan, develop and execute internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and company culture.
- Develop, mantain and improve materials, platforms and internal campaigns using a broad mix of media and formats to effectively target BSC community and staff.
- Plan and oversee internal events and the promotion of internal activities.
- Work closely with internal teams and working groups or create new ones to improve internal processes and communication.
- Monitor results and gather employee feedback to assess communication effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, technology, and digital platforms to provide the best methods for effective internal communication.
- Ensure internal messaging is consistent with the company's brand voice and external communication efforts.
- Work with the design and communication team to create visually appealing and engaging communication materials.
- Coordinate the overall strategy with the mission, values and goals of the center in a continuous environment of organizational change and transformation.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Experience in internal and corporate communication.
- Knowledge of employee engagement, crisis communications, and change management principles.
- Experience in managing digital communication platforms such as intranets, email marketing tools, and internal social networks.
- Fluency in English, Spanish, and Catalan is essential.

- Previous experience working in international and research-focused environments will be highly desirable.

We are looking for a machine learning researcher with expertise in large language models (LLMs) to contribute to projects that aim at improving science communication in the context of climate change and mitigation.
This position involves developing and applying LLM-based approaches to enhance the accessibility, accuracy, and impact of climate-related information, bridging the gap between scientific research and broader audiences.
The selected candidate will work on cutting-edge AI research in collaboration with leading experts in machine learning and climate science, contributing to European and applied research projects. Key Duties
- Develop and apply large language models for science communication, improving the accessibility and clarity of climate-related information.
- Design and implement machine learning models to process, summarize, and generate climate science content for diverse audiences, including researchers, policymakers, and the public.
