Join bp as M&C Iberia Brand & Comms Manager!

Location: Madrid Corporate Office

About role itself As the Brand & Comms / Product & Brand Manager, you will handle the adaptation of global Marketing Communications plans and content, co-created with Networks of Perfection (NoEs), into local, annual Marketing Communications plans with innovative brand and product offers that deliver brand health objectives and support the delivery of commercial targets across brands.

Working closely with the Hub, you will be responsible for implementing campaigns across the year, optimising performance through testing and experimentation, and ensuring compliance with local regulatory, tech and language requirements. This role, whilst still understanding and following established procedures, must use independent judgment when faced with sophisticated problems, identifying issues and providing insight to support resolutions

Key Accountabilities:

• Demonstrating local insights from Spain and Portugal, craft comprehensive annual Marketing Communications plans for your brands and products, based on the global strategies and plans co-created with the NoEs, to amplify brand metrics and drive tangible business outcomes in the Iberia region.
• In close collaboration with the Hub and agency partners, adapt brand content from the global activation toolkits for local campaigns in Spain and Portugal (developing campaign materials locally only if unavailable in the activation toolkit)
• Define and complete a local media and communications channel mix to achieve your marketing objectives, including paid, owned and earned media, in alignment with global strategy and local performance data.
• Own the planning and execution of coordinated media strategies across Spain and Portugal, ensuring efficient use of paid, owned and earned channels to improve campaign efficiency and value
• Conduct A/B testing and experimentation, in partnership with the Hub, to refine and optimise brand content and campaign performance across all Priority communication channels.
• Engage local sponsors, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), partners and affiliates in Spain and Portugal, supporting brand building and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic direction.
• Serve as the brand and communications authority in relationships with key strategic partners, building a consistent and unified framework of communication in line with bp brand guidelines.
• Act as a Marketing Communications guide, authoritatively defending and articulating plans in front of critical internal and external collaborators, including senior leadership, partners, and industry influencers.
• Complete the local implementation of sophisticated global sponsorships, including the coordination of events, communication plans, partner alignment and on-the-ground activation in compliance with brand and commercial objectives.
• Work closely with marketing and business customers to ensure annual plans and deliverables align with long-term marketing and business strategies in the Iberian markets.
• Ensure compliance with all local regulatory, tax, technical, and language requirements in marketing activities across Spain and Portugal.
• Ensure consistency of product brand messaging and visual identity across all channels and touchpoints.
• Working closely with the Hub, track and analyse campaign performance, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and optimise brand investments to improve value. Share local insights and takeaways with regional leadership and NoEs to improve overall brand efficiency.
• Support the team in addressing sophisticated challenges and developing resolutions across multiple partners. Exercise good judgment and make independent decisions when appropriate, raising issues where more sophisticated resolutions are required.
• Watch the latest marketing, communication and product trends across all channels, using this expertise to provide guidance, coaching, and continuous improvement of campaign strategies and product portfolio relevance.
• Responsible for implementing marketing activities that meet or exceed critical metrics, including marketing return on investment, campaign performance, and fulfilment of Hub SLAs. Drive year-on-year increases in Hub utilisation, content re-use, and campaign efficiency.
• Provide input into the annual budget planning process and handle budgets for specific activities, ensuring alignment with business priorities and financial field.
  
  

Experience and Education

• 10 years' demonstrated ability in brand management and communications, with a focus on omnichannel execution, preferably in a multi-national matrix organisation.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in performance optimisation and Campaign testing.
• Ability to adapt global strategies and content to meet local market requirements successfully.
• Excellent budget and interpersonal skills to coordinate multiple campaigns and team members, including senior business partners.
• Deep understanding of customer behaviour and market trends to drive innovation and strategic decision-making.
• Strong project management skills, crucial for the successful delivery of the role’s deliverables, combined with a customer-obsessed, principled approach that consistently prioritises the customer while delivering long-term business impact.

As an Innovation Manager you will help shape and lead the Mobility & Convenience (M&C) core offer portfolio—spanning non‑fuels, and digital solutions. Your role will be responsible to lead the development of customer centric propositions, that drive business growth. You will translate trends, customer insights and market opportunities into compelling propositions and own the brand experience.

What You’ll Do

• Own M&C offers: Design and launch core propositions— non‑fuel (e.g. new convenience offers, partnerships, etc.), and digital—driven by customer insight and brand excellence.
• Deliver measurable results: Collaborate with the Marketing Network of Excellence to optimise marketing ROI, brand engagement, volume, profitability, and lifetime value.
• Shape the brand narrative: Develop compelling brand identities, assets, and content that amplify awareness, demand, and preference—closely collaborating with Brand, Comms, and Content teams.
• Drive GTM strategy: Partner with core markets to build differentiated value propositions and go‑to‑market plans tailored to address specific customer needs and pain points.
• Manage concept to launch: Lead ideation, testing, business cases, and content briefing for offers, products, and services.
• Orchestrate across channels: Ensure a unified customer experience—a seamless blend of fuels, non‑fuels, and digital.
• Standardise & scale: Drive alignment on shared mechanics and technology across markets, reducing duplication and improving efficiency.
• Manage offer lifecycle: Oversee product lifecycle—from launch through sunset—validating with local markets and implementing supporting tech.
• Identify new opportunities: Collaborate with Tech, Ops, and partners to surface and implement new digital/non‑fuel solutions (e.g., pay‑by‑plate, kiosks).
• Support market execution: Create activation toolkits for local markets, enabling consistency and simplicity at scale.
• Steward budget & planning: Input and manage budgets for your initiatives, ensuring financial efficiency and strategic alignment.
  
  

Your Experience & Expertise

• Experience within retail/convenience proposition development is essential
• Proven track record translating commercial and marketing strategy into roadmaps—ideally within a complex global matrix.
• Deep experience in B2B, B2C, or B2B2C offer development, underpinned by customer insights.
• Strong leadership with cross‑functional influence across multiple regions.
• Experience working within a franchise model would be desirable
• Experience managing agencies—ideally on premium offer/value‑proposition definitions.
• Product management and marketing activation experience highly valued.
• Analytical mindset—leveraging data and trends for strategic decisions.
• Excellent networking and partner management—internally and externally.
• Budgeting savvy, commercial intuition, and digital tech fluency.
• Experience in developing and managing digital offers /ecosystems or working with digital aggregators / e-commerce players.
