Regenerative Project Manager
CrowdFarming · Madrid, ES
. LESS
🌱 About The Role.
You’ll own CrowdFarming’s regenerative programme in Northern Europe (France, Germany and Austria): guiding farmers from the initial soil analysis through their transition, taking it from a plan on paper to verified changes in the field, and making CrowdFarming a trusted voice in the region.
Our Sustainability & Impact team already works with 100 farmers in the programme, across 10,000 hectares in 6 countries. Your job is to make it work, and grow, in the north. It’s the core of our mission: making regenerative organic agriculture possible for farmers and accessible to consumers.
You report to the Head of Sustainability & Impact, and work closely with our Southern Europe Regen Project Manager, our 20 agronomists, our Soil & Impact Data Lead Engineer and, of course, with farmers. Together, you turn what happens on the farm into knowledge and tools.
⚠️ The “boots in the field” disclaimer.
This is not a desk role that manages farmers over email. Many of our best results happen on the farm, so you must be eager to pack your bags, sit with farmers where they work, and get your hands in the soil
🧩 The Challenges You’ll Help Us Solve
How do we run a programme farmers are excited to be part of? Changing how a farm works is a change in behaviour, not just a checklist. Co-design a programme that farmers actually want to be part of. One programme and one quality standard for everyone, with steps adapted to where each farmer sits in their journey, from farmers joining this year to those who have been with us for years.
How do we make the programme scalable? Help define and implement the right protocols and tools to scale the programme to more farmers across Europe smoothly with our team of agronomists.
How do we put science and existing knowledge to work on the farm? Find and translate the literature that matters so farmers can make better decisions on their own land, and turn what we learn in the field into evidence the wider sector can use.
🌾 What You’ll Own
The programme milestones. Make sure farmers and agronomists move through every step of the year: soil sampling and data collection, the regeneration plan definition, and verification that practices are actually in place. You’ll also lead the relationship with some farmers directly.
Training events. Organise events that bring farmers together with experts, so they learn from the best and from each other.
Our voice and network in the region and beyond. As our closest link to farmers in Northern Europe, build strong ties with local farmer networks and regenerative and organic organisations, and keep us up to date on what’s happening in food and agriculture in the region. Share what we learn beyond our farmers: technical articles, talks at sector events and, when the data allows, research papers.
🧰 What You Need To Succeed
- The baseline.
- A degree in agronomy, biology, environmental sciences or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience in regenerative or organic farming.
- A track record of coordinating farmers and taking field projects from plan to execution.
- Experience with certification, verification, MRV or carbon programmes is a strong plus.
- The field-and-desk doer. As comfortable in a muddy plot as defining processes, planning milestones or briefing our tech team. Autonomous, and you thrive switching between contexts.
- Tech savvy. You use digital tools every day and enjoy learning new ones. You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, field apps and data platforms.
- You read data like an agronomist. Comfortable with soil and agronomic data, you can spot what matters in the results and explain it to a farmer in plain words. You take data as a source of truth, even when it’s not what we hoped.
- Farmer-first. You build trust with farmers and understand that systemic change happens one plot and one relationship at a time.
- A sector voice. You can represent CrowdFarming credibly in front of farmers and regenerative and organic organisations, and you write clearly for farmers, the sector and scientific audiences.
- Languages. English or Spanish are necessary to work with the team. German (native or fluent) is a must. French and Italian are a strong plus.
- A valid driving licence (B) and willingness to drive long distances between farms.
There’s a culture that runs through all of this before it runs through any specific task. We move fast, and we’d rather run a protocol that’s good enough this season and improve it next season than wait for the perfect one.
You’ll have real autonomy here: nobody is going to hand you a sampling plan or a farm visit schedule. That’s yours to build, and yours to get wrong sometimes. And we trust data over opinions, even when it tells us something we didn’t want to hear.
👉 Why CrowdFarming, and why now
We’re the European leader in direct-to-consumer organic food, connecting 3,500 farmers with more than 500,000 households through our marketplace and Farmeneur, our farm data platform. Highly involved founders, feet on the ground but huge ambition.
And a clear moment: going from being present in 31 countries to truly competing with the big supermarkets in each one of them, with regenerative agriculture as what sets us apart.
👉 What We Offer
Few roles let you see your work turn into management decisions on a farm in Bavaria or Brittany, and then measure whether the soil actually changed.
Permanent, full-time, working conditions adapted to local regulations. Flexible schedule and a hybrid setup in Madrid. Competitive pay for the market. Partially funded health insurance where applicable. A training budget that’s actually yours to use. Language classes, also partially funded. And yes, website credits on your birthday and work anniversary.
🌱 If you’ve read this far
Your CV matters less than how you think under ambiguity, and whether you can turn a soil analysis into a decision a farmer actually makes.
If you want to be the person who makes regenerative agriculture real on the ground across Northern Europe, we want to meet you!
