Manager, Services Business Development, Retail & Commerce
Services is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.
Within our Retail & Commerce team, we partner with leading retailers, eCommerce players, telcos, Big Techs, and media companies to drive growth and transformation. Now, we’re looking for a Manager, Business Development to expand our footprint in Spain and build long-term partnerships with flagship clients.
As Manager, Services Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Retail & Commerce strategy in Spain. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, introducing innovative solutions that address their most pressing challenges and positioning Mastercard as a partner of choice.
About The Role
- Contribute to the Retail & Commerce strategy and rollout in Spain
- Be the ambassador of our key Retail and Commerce products and solutions, drive the agenda, and lead the conversation with senior client executives around innovative sales opportunities
- Take joy in developing and maintaining a broad network of flagship customers across i.e. Retail, Telco, Big Tech, Media and e-com
- Create customized and well-structured proposals for clients leveraging the Global network of Mastercard Services products and expertise
- Partner with local project teams to ensure post-sale project implementation quality and identify potential follow-up sales opportunities
- Play a key role in creating awareness of Mastercard Services Retail and Commerce products by organizing events and building thought leadership
- Undergraduate degree required. MBA or relevant post graduate degree is an advantage.
- Background in a top-tier consulting firm with exposure to retail clients, or alternatively proven track record in business development or strategy roles within leading e-commerce or retail organizations.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in Spanish and English. Portuguese desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, self-starter and strong commercial sense.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral with the ability to run discussions independently with C-level executives.
- High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment.
- Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
