Title And Summary
Director, Account Management, Retail & Commerce Spain
The Director Account Management is a pivotal part of Retail & Commerce Spain, focusing on expanding Mastercard products and services footprint across Retail Issuers and Merchants, you will identify and maximize business opportunities both in existing and new customers in order to meet, and outperform, strategic product and sales objectives. This is a customer-facing role which requires exceptional and strong strategic selling and strategic view, relationship management and business development skills along with the ability to quantify opportunities, develop concepts and deliver solutions. A such, this is also a unique opportunity for a committed professional to take you to the next level of your career.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role
- Grows revenues by identifying and pursuing opportunities with new or existing customers/markets
- Sets sales strategy with retailers/retail issuers aligned with geography and segment strategy
- Executes strategy within retailers for growing the Mastercard services footprint, opening new acceptance verticals and gain the fight against cash
- Responsible for pipeline management at the segment level
- Communication and coordination with internal departments accordingly to the need to develop compelling business cases and deliver quantifiable solutions for existing customers and prospects based on customer needs and requirements, as well as ensuring program implementations to achieve targets
- Position Mastercard as a reference in technology in the market and as preferred partner for retailers
- Develops the sales pipeline for retailers, coordinating with product development and account management teams
- Plays a lead role in conversations with key decision makers for new or emerging product opportunities
- Provides input for long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across business lines
- Plays a key role in developing financial modelling and business cases for development opportunities
- Executes and manages the customer contract agreement process
- Evaluates the deal process to deliver improvements
- Enhances ongoing business development relationships across the merchant ecosystem
- In-depth experience executing and managing business development strategies for large or complex countries/regions/industry verticals
- Track record in achieving business development targets and building customer relationships through customer sales
- Demonstrated success introducing existing and new/emerging solutions into various Mastercard countries/regions/industry verticals
- Strong ability to develop customer relationships and deriving business opportunities out of an in-depth understanding of customer needs
- Understanding of payments and retailers industry preferably gained within digital new products
- Knowledge of the Spanish market
- Language: Spanish and English are required
