Responsabilidades principales What will you be involved in?
We believe the best software engineers build strong foundations by experiencing different parts of the product lifecycle, from building customer facing features to ensuring quality and reliability at scale. As a Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll develop your technical skills while contributing to real products and services, supported by structured learning, coaching, and hands on delivery with an agile team
During your time on the programme, you could be involved in:
- Building and improving software features and services, working across the full development lifecycle from design and development through to delivery and maintenance
- Working on back end and/or front end components, learning how systems are designed, built and integrated to create great customer experiences
- Collaborating closely with QA, Product and other team members to understand requirements, test outcomes and deliver high quality releases as part of an agile (SCRUM) team
- Learning software quality practices, including writing and executing test cases, identifying defects and developing skills in automated testing
- Taking part in mentoring, training and hands on learning to build both technical capability and wider product and business understanding
- Exploring modern engineering practices and tools, including how emerging technologies can be used to improve quality, efficiency and productivity
To be eligible for this role, you’ll need to have a Computer Science Degree (or equivalent) alongside
- Experience with at least one programming language and a solid understanding of coding fundamentals
- Ability to apply problem solving skills using code, demonstrated through academic or practical projects
- Familiarity with basic software development practices such as version control, testing, and debugging
- The aptitude and motivation to learn new technologies and programming languages
- Self-starting attitude; open to new challenges
- A curious mindset that embraces innovation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with colleagues across the globe.
- Experience of using AI, and an interest in continuous development of AI skills as the technology evolves.

What you’ll do:
As a Product Owner, you are responsible for maximising the value delivered by the product to customers and the business. You own the product backlog, define priorities, and ensure that delivery teams are focused on the highest-value outcomes. Acting as a key interface between business stakeholders, customers, and delivery teams, you translate product vision and strategy into clear priorities and actionable requirements across the entire product lifecycle.

Responsabilidades principales What you’ll do
- Own and prioritise the product backlog to maximise customer and business value.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, architects, designers, and customer-facing teams to translate product strategy into deliverable outcomes.
- Gather, analyse, and refine business and customer needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Use AI-assisted tools to analyse complex problems, explore prioritisation options, assess risks, and accelerate the preparation of product artefacts (user stories, impact analyses, prioritisation scenarios), while remaining fully accountable for product decisions.
- Make trade-off decisions between scope, value, risk, and delivery constraints.
- Ensure strong alignment between product vision, roadmap, and delivery execution.
- Provide clarity and fast decision-making to delivery teams during implementation.
- Continuously assess product performance, delivery outcomes, and customer feedback to drive improvements.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to prioritise based on value and impact.

As a Graduate Cloud Operations Engineer, you’ll join a structured 2-year development programme designed to build versatile cloud professionals who understand our operational ecosystem. Through a combination of hands-on delivery, mentorship, and exposure to different teams and disciplines, you’ll develop the skills and breadth of experience needed to launch a career in enterprise cloud operations.
You will spend significant time in our Cloud Operations Engineering team and will be involved in
- Building hands-on skills deploying, administering, monitoring, and automating infrastructure across AWS and Azure
- Ensuring service excellence by maintaining the availability, performance, and security of Sage’s cloud products used by thousands of customers daily
- Working with cutting-edge technologies including containerisation, serverless architectures, infrastructure as code, and premium AI tools like GitHub Copilot
- Developing critical incident management skills as part of our 24/7 operation, participating in on-call rotation with full support and clear escalation paths
- Driving automation and improve operational efficiency by identifying manual processes and building solutions in a DevOps environment, collaborating closely with Product Delivery and Global Security teams
Governance: Gaining insight into how cloud spend is managed, how supplier relationships shape our platform, and how security and compliance considerations influence operational decisions.
Architecture: Learning how Technical Architects approach cloud service design, architectural reviews, vendor alignment, and tooling standards.
Tooling & Automation: Seeing how strategic tooling initiatives and automation solutions enhance productivity, and how emerging technologies and AI capabilities are evaluated and adopted.
Site Reliability Engineering: Understanding how SLOs, error budgets, and data-driven reliability practices are used to build self-healing, resilient systems.
Service Centre: Experiencing how incidents are triaged, changes are managed, and visibility is maintained across our product portfolio through our 24×7 monitoring operation.
This programme is designed to give you meaningful, hands on experience from day one, with the support and space to learn, ask questions and grow, helping you build the skills, confidence and experience needed for a long term career in Cloud Operations.
