VHIR is seeking a Research Assistant in Clinical and Biomedical Sciences to collaborate in the development of the research project “WHY AM I A BAD WEIGHT LOSS RESPONDER? LOOKING FOR NEW CLINICAL PHENOTYPES IN OBESITY” (PI24/00852; I.P.: Albert Lecube). This project includes the participation in patient recruitment, management of collected samples, and data management. Additionally, the selected candidate will collaborate in other competitively funded projects and in the Research Group’s lines of work, particularly those focused on obesity and diabetes
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate and manage activities related to research projects on obesity, diabetes, and associated comorbidities
- Give support in the preparation of research protocols, ethics submissions, and project documentation
- Collaborate with the research team in data collection, database management, and quality control
- Prepare and contribute to scientific manuscripts, presentations, and grant Applications
- Analyse clinical and research data, including statistical interpretation
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences
- Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Clinical trial methodology
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Additional training in Project management and coordination in research environments;
- Knowledge of biomedical databases and reference managers (e.g., PubMed, EndNote, Mendeley);
- Basic understanding of regulatory affairs and ethics in biomedical research; (iv) Experience with data visualisation and presentation tools;
- Problem-solving and adaptability in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in Catalan.
Required:
- Experience working in biomedical or clinical research projects
- Knowledge of obesity and/or metabolic diseases (e.g., diabetes, metabolic syndrome, associated comorbidities)
- Ability to conduct data collection, management, and basic statistical analysis
- Ability to contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts and reports
- Experience in scientific writing
- Skills in statistical analysis and data interpretation
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office and digital tools like Python and SPSS
- Teamwork, creativity, empathy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of clinical trial procedures and regulatory aspects
- Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and/or bioinformatics tools
- Ability to perform literature searches and critically appraise scientific evidence
- Ability to support the development of new research proposals and grant Applications
- Strong motivation to contribute actively and grow within ongoing and future research projects
- Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
- Starting date: As soon as possible.
- Gross annual salary: €28,568.00 – 31,000.16 Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.

VHIR is looking for a highly motivated Predoctoral Researcher to join the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Research Group.
The Molecular Imaging and Therapy research group focuses its activity on deepening the molecular bases and developing new areas of research in molecular signalling pathways and the identification of new theragnostic targets.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Design and performance of experiments
- Coordinate and support daily research activities
- Data interpretation and discussion of results
- Collaborate with other researchers in this field of research
- Prepare, organise and manage datasets for reporting as well as scientific publications
- Preparation of manuscripts, reports, presentations, and dissemination activities
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related sciences
- Master’s degree in biomedical research or related field
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Good academic and master thesis scores (desired > 8.5 of average)
- Good knowledge of statistical analysis
- Specialisation course for the handling of animals for experimental purposes.
- Communication skills in Catalan
- Certificate to handle radioactive materials
Required:
- Knowledge for working with cell culture and mouse models
- Knowledge of Molecular Biology, Histology, flow cytometry and ELISA analysis
- Previous research experience in an academic or biomedical research environment
- Familiarised with image analysis
- Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis methods
- Experience/knowledge in radioactive labelling of compounds
- Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in scientific writing and presentation of results.
