Join our Early Talent Programm for D&T. As a Junior Business Analyst at dsm-firmenich, you will support the delivery of digital solutions that improve business processes, enhance product performance, and enable strategic goals. This role is an entry point into the D&T organization, offering hands-on experience in working with business and technical teams to drive small-scale improvements across platforms and tools. You’ll contribute to building our digital backbone while developing core competencies in product and process knowledge, agile delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Product and Process Knowledge
  • Develop a foundational understanding of relevant products, platforms, and business processes.
  • Support the business with insights on basic functionality and feasibility of digital solutions.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for straightforward process or functionality-related questions.
  • Requirements Gathering
  • Learn to translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Align with developers and testers to ensure proper story refinement and prioritization.
  • Focus on capturing and delivering small improvements that provide measurable value.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Participate in regular check-ins and status updates with business stakeholders.
  • Build confidence in managing simple stakeholder interactions and aligning on expectations.
  • Communicate progress and flag risks or issues early.
  • Agile Product Development
  • Work within Scrum teams and contribute during key ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
  • Embrace the iterative nature of agile and start developing resilience in changing or uncertain situations.
  • Support the product backlog with updated stories and documentation.
  • Consulting Mindset
  • Begin developing the ability to challenge business assumptions based on platform/tool constraints.
  • Learn to evaluate whether requests align with standard platform capabilities.
  • Support more senior colleagues in evaluating solution feasibility.

You bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field within the last 3 years
  • 0–2 years of experience in a similar or supporting role in a digital/IT environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent is a plus.
