Tasks

Introduction to Role:
The Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Operations team (ML/AI Ops) is a newly formed team will spearhead the design,creation, and operational excellence of our entire ML/AI data and computational AWS ecosystem to catalyze and accelerate science led innovations.
This team will Partner with data scientists and AI engineers to implement, deploy, and monitor health and performance of AI solutions. You will design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions using AWS services while establishing ML/AI governance frameworks, automating infrastructure with tools like AWS CDK and Projen, and conducting cost-benefit analyses of foundation models to drive strategic decisions across the organization. About Role
As a Software Engineer in our Smartpoint Cloud team, you will help shape the storefront that transforms how agents sell and service trips. You’ll build intuitive, performant, and reliable features on Travelport+, our industry-leading retailing platform designed specifically for travel professionals.
You’ll work in a collaborative, agile team where engineering and product developmnet go hand in hand, and where your contributions will have a visible impact on millions of travelers.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering clean, robust, well tested code in an agile, test-driven development environment.
- Collaborating with engineering and product peers to refine ideas and technical solutions to meet our customer needs.
- Inputting strongly into the technical solutions with the team - provide meaningful and constructive code reviews and feedback to your peers.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable front-end applications in React + TypeScript.
- Contribute to microservices development in Node.js and C#/.NET Core, depending on service ownership.
- Write clean, tested, maintainable code following TDD and best practices.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions across services.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to refine solutions and deliver value to customers.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure).
- Experience building modern web applications or services.
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+).
- Hands-on experience with React (hooks, state management, Redux), HTML5, CSS.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs (GraphQL a plus), and understanding of modern web services.
- Exposure to Node.js microservices and/or C# .NET Core services.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, xUnit.
- Comfort working with containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with C# and .NET Core
- Experience with distributed systems or high-availability service design.
- Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps best practices.

Position Overview
Our team is part of the area Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) Private Bank. Within TDI, Partnerdata is the central client reference data system in Germany. As a core banking system, many banking processes and applications are integrated and communicate via >2k interfaces. From a technical perspective, we maintain critical functionality on the mainframe, but build new solutions (REST services, Angular frontend, Big Data and GCP solutions and more). Next to the maintenance and the implementation of new CTB requirements, the content focus also lies on the regulatory and tax topics surrounding a partner/ client. We are looking for a full stack Frontend engineer colleague to help us with day-to-day activities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You are part of the development team, responsible for the functional analysis of epics and user stories in strong collaboration with all stakeholders (e.g. business units, operations, development team, Product Owner)
- You are responsible Transferring business requirements into technical solutions.
- You will be interacting and communicating daily with the team to provide solid and accessible UX.
- You are responsible for the stability of the application landscape and support software releases.
- Ensuring systems performance and service level requirements are met.
- You also support in L3 support and application governance.
- You would also be needed in the GCP development of the application during the Cloud migration in the long term.
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) around Frontend Development with Angular, RxJS and TypeScript in combination with REST based APIs.
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) with regards to responsive design focused around HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS (especially Bootstrap 4+).
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience of NodeJS, REST Services, Java, Python, Maven, Github Actions, GitHub, Sonar, Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, OpenJDK, BitBucket, Teamcity, JFrog Artifactory .
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence and initiative, ability to work in agile delivery teams.
- A passion for constantly learning and applying new technologies and programming languages in a constantly evolving web environment.
- Your English skills are good, and you can both communicate professionally but also informally in small talks with the team.
- You bring in a wealth of knowhow in web frontend engineering with Angular or similar technologies, cloud architecture and technology in general.
