Role Overview
As CTO, you will own the company’s technology vision and execution across product engineering, data, security, and platform reliability. You’ll lead and scale high-performing teams, partner with Compliance and Operations, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. This role requires strong payments expertise, regulatory experience, and proven leadership in building technology organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the overall technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Build and scale engineering, platform, data, and security teams.
- Drive platform reliability, latency, and cost efficiency with strong SLAs.
- Ensure compliance with FCA/EMI regulations, PCI DSS, and ISO standards.
- Oversee integrations with payment schemes, processors, APMs, and banking partners.
- Enable real-time risk/AML tooling and merchant analytics for fraud prevention.
- Partner with Product and Commercial to translate business goals into technical execution.
- Manage technology budget, vendor selection, and governance.
- Proven experience as CTO or VP of Engineering in fintech, payments, or banking infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of payments architecture (authorisation, settlement, reconciliation, ledgering, disputes).
- Strong background in regulated environments with compliance leadership (FCA/EMI, PCI DSS).
- Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, CI/CD, and high-availability systems.
- Experience building and scaling multi-disciplinary engineering organizations.
