Ready to be part of the experience?
Now, let´s discuss this role and what you will do to help achieve Fever´s mission.
Behind the user-friendly iOS and Android apps and webpage that work across the world is the engineering team. We are in charge of creating, developing, improving, and maintaining all Fever services so that more people can have an amazing experience.
About the role
At Casfid (a Fever company), we build the technology that powers on-site experiences at some of the largest live events worldwide. Casfid is the RFID, access control and cashless payments technology provider of Fever Group, enabling millions of attendees to enjoy seamless, real-time event experiences.
Our Android applications are a critical part of Fever´s operational ecosystem, powering cashless payments, access control, ticketing, recharges and other on-site workflows. These applications run on smartphones, kiosks/totems and custom hardware devices designed in-house, and are used in large-scale, high-demand environments across multiple countries.
We are looking for an Android Developer to join our team and help us evolve our Android platform. You will work mainly with Kotlin, contribute to the progressive migration from Java, and help build scalable and reliable solutions used by millions of users in real time.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain native Android applications, primarily using Kotlin, following Android best practices and Google design guidelines.
- Maintain and evolve existing Android applications built in Java, contributing to their progressive migration to Kotlin.
- Manage asynchronous workflows using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, while maintaining existing implementations based on RxJava.
- Apply SOLID principles to ensure clean, maintainable and scalable code.
- Collaborate with the team to implement improvements using Jetpack libraries (Compose is a plus).
- Use tools such as Gradle and Fastlane to automate build, testing and deployment processes.
- Build software used at large-scale live events across 10+ countries, running on mobile devices, kiosks/totems and custom hardware for access control and cashless operations.
- Work closely with product, hardware and operations teams to deliver robust solutions in high-throughput, real-time environments.
About you
- 5+ years of experience as a native Android developer.
- Strong experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
- Proven ability to read, understand and maintain Java code in a mixed Java/Kotlin codebase.
- Strong knowledge of the Android ecosystem: Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack (Compose is a plus), Coroutines and/or RxJava, and dependency injection with Dagger or Hilt.
- Experience building Android applications with offline/online support, background tasks, or multi-process architectures.
- Good English level to read technical documentation, research solutions and communicate in writing.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
It would be a plus if you...
- Experience working on global-scale products (multiple time zones, currencies and languages).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with NFC/RFID on Android (reading and writing).
- Experience integrating mobile payment gateways.
- Experience using local databases and implementing data synchronization with backend services.
Benefits & Perks
- Real Flexibility
- An environment where tech reigns supreme, not spreadsheets
- Direct impact on products used by millions
- Growth, ownership, and zero unnecessary bureaucracy
- In-house events and festivals
- Great atmosphere, serious challenges, healthy team
- Diverse and inclusive culture
- Lunch Buddies: once a week, lunch is on us
- TaxDown tax filing
- Payflow for payroll advances
- Paid absences for your birthday, prenatal checkups and childbirth preparation classes for the pregnant woman´s partner, and in case of hospitalization or death of your pet
- Idsports Challenge: we support participation in sports challenges
- English activities to improve your fluency
About the process
Fever aims to provide the best-fastest possible experience to our candidates. This is how it would look like:
- Talent Interview - 1h: An intro to Fever, our culture and a conversation about your background and experience.
- Technical Assignment: Your opportunity to demonstrate all you know! We would like to receive it back within 3 days.
- Team Interview - 1.5h: A discussion about your proposed solution to the technical challenge and your chance to make sure you know everything you need about Fever.
- Engineering Manager Interview - 1h: A deep dive into your technical expertise and your opportunity to ask anything you need to know about your day to day at Fever.
Thank you for considering joining Fever. We cannot wait to learn more about you!
