Job Title: Regional Franchise Manager
Reports to: Sr. Franchise Director
Department Overview:
Part of the Wholesale department at Michael Kors, the Franchise team oversees strategy, business development, and operations across a network of Franchise-operated stores in EMEAI.
Role Overview:
The Regional Franchise Manager will work within the Franchise Operations team. The role will support the Senior Franchise Director in managing relationships with over 11 franchise partners across the EMEAI region. The candidate will play a critical role in driving franchise growth and performance across assigned markets, including Europe, the Balkans, Middle East, Africa, and India. The candidate will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance of their regions, and will play a key role in ownership of regional strategy, achieving operational excellence and improved customer experience across the Franchise stores.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES
Business Management
- Own and analyse retail KPIs, trade feedback and local sales trends. Develop effective business strategies to drive sales results and ensure financial targets are met by partnering with wider Franchise team and franchise partners
- Partner with Buying and Planning to define product opportunities, optimise assortment and sell through performance
- Work closely with Franchise partners on business development and continued growth in region, drive brand awareness and increase market share
- Creation and rollout of regional incentive initiatives
- Work closely with MK Licensing Manager and licensees to support Franchise partners’ licensed product categories sales
- Leading regional Marketing/PR conversations with internal HQ teams and franchise partners on implementation of regional specific activations and localised product initiatives
- Execute purposeful market visits (in person and virtually) in assigned regions, collaborating with key contacts to support business goals
- Drive innovation and creative thinking within Franchise as well as business wider, seek new ways to increase business
- Maintain knowledge of P&L, Franchise licensee master agreements and store leases
Operational Management
- Streamline and continuously improve tools and operational processes to eliminate inefficiencies
- Identify best practices from Franchise partners and share across regions
- Strategic coordination of shipment flows, including resolution of market-specific issues
- Work with Store Design & Construction Teams and manage critical path to ensure smooth store openings, renovations and relocations
- Oversight of regional e-commerce performance and partner alignment with global digital strategies
- Liaise with Franchise VM to align on commercial priorities
- Work with the Buying team on seasonal uniforms and follow up with Franchise partners to ensure that appearance standards are maintained across regions
- Creation and delivery of training programs across markets on service and customer experience standards
- Organize business reviews with Franchise Partners, lead with clear strategic direction
- End-to-end management of Store Manager Conferences and seasonal kick-offs
- Conducting regional opportunity analysis and competitor benchmarking for new markets
- Defining onboarding strategy for new franchisees and stores, including process planning, training coordination, and risk mitigation
Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Acting as the 360 strategic contact point for assigned partners for internal stakeholders
- Build effective relationships and manage daily communications with Franchise partners
- Act as brand ambassador in deliveries values and culture internally and externally
- Support SR Franchise Director to present new projects for review by senior management
- Take ownership of on-boarding of new Franchise partners and team members
- Represents the assigned market internally, offering expert local insights
Team
- Lead by example to promote wellbeing on the Franchise team as well as with Franchise partners
- Monitoring of partner team structures and active follow-up on key recruitment needs
- Strategic advisement on training and team readiness, especially in new store openings or transitions
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in Franchise, Retail Operations or Retail leadership role
- Experience in developing commercial partnerships, prior franchise experience is preferred
- Relevant degree is preferred
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience of working with global teams and understanding of cross-cultural communication is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to multitask on various projects and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
