The Pau Costa Foundation (PCF) is a global non-profit organisation that seeks to facilitate the connection between researchers, emergency services, and civil society.
The PCF's core activities focus on fire risk management and fire ecology, disseminating knowledge and implementing tangible projects relevant to the fire community.
The PCF listens, works, creates, and disseminates solutions for preventing major wildfires and improving emergency management.
This work is accomplished by connecting a global network of researchers, operational personnel, and society who exchange knowledge, ideas, and insights to achieve systemic change.
The goal is to help develop efficient, effective, and useful projects and services for the sector.
In this regard, the PCF is seeking a wildfire specialist to join the project team.
Tasks The tasks that the candidate will have to perform are the following: * Become involved in the development of projects currently underway at the Foundation: * Independently draft technical documents and monitoring reports.
- Attend meetings and conferences representing the Foundation, both virtually and in person.
- Plan and develop other activities necessary to achieve project objectives.
- Organise workshops and conferences.
- Participate in the preparation of new project proposals.
- Advanced university degree or other officially recognised equivalent in the fields of Forestry Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Geography, or similar.
- Demonstrable knowledge of forest fires.
- High level of English (B2).
- Ability to write technical reports.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
- B1 driver's license.
- Ability to work remotely in a team a few days a week.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently.
- Knowledge of other European languages.
- A combination of remote and on-site work in Taradell.
