Product Owner - Wordletic
10 jul.Kilo™
Product Owner - Wordletic
Kilo™ · Madrid, ES
Teletrabajo . Android iOS Spark Office
About The Company
Kiloverse is the operational force that helps ventures grow - building the systems, teams, and infrastructure that turn ideas into scalable businesses. Behind every fast-growing product, there’s a group of people who think like owners, act fast, and execute with precision.
Here, you’ll find people who want to break big in their careers - working side by side with entrepreneurs and founders to build ventures that redefine the health, wellness, beauty, or travel industries.
About The Team
Wordletic is a CEFR-aligned language learning app (A1–C2) built around a distinctive method: short audio warm-up sessions with hypnosis and meditation that prime the learner, followed by structured lessons. We're a small, fast-moving consumer-subscription business that acquires most customers through performance marketing channels. The product is live on iOS and Android with a growing content library across multiple languages.
Why this role exists
Product ownership currently sits with the founder, and we need someone to take real ownership of the product - the roadmap, the backlog, and above all, the quality of what we ship and how people use it.
It's the person who decides what we build next, makes sure it's built in the best possible way, and owns whether the product is genuinely great.
This is a hands-on role. You won't hand off decisions and wait for results - you'll run product and tech execution day to day, sit close to the engineering work, and shape how the team itself is built and structured as we scale.
Get ready to own
- The product roadmap. You decide what gets built next and why, and you defend those choices against how people actually use the product.
- The team. You shape how the product and engineering team looks and works - who we need, how we're structured, and how we raise the level of execution as we grow.
- Day-to-day product and tech execution. You run the delivery engine - turning direction into shipped work, unblocking, reviewing, and holding the bar on how things get built.
- A product people love. The bar is not "shipped," it's "great." You own the quality of the user experience end to end and are relentless about it.
- Prioritisation under constraint. You make the call on what's worth building versus what's a distraction, and prioritize the work according to the impact the feature will have.
- Usage and engagement. These are your numbers - activation, session depth, feature adoption, habit formation, retention. You live in Amplitude, find where users drop or disengage, form a hypothesis, ship a change, and read the result.
- The backlog and delivery cadence. You translate strategy into well-specified work that the engineering team can move on and execute.
- Be a hands-on operator who has run product and engineering execution day to day - you've owned delivery, not just direction, and you can point to things you shipped and shipped well.
- Have experience shaping and building a product/engineering team: knowing who to hire, how to structure the work, and how to lift the level of execution.
- Have a track record of building products people genuinely love - you hold a high bar on quality and can point to something you made meaningfully better.
- Be comfortable living in product analytics: Amplitude or similar, reading usage, engagement, and retention to decide what to build and whether it worked. You don't need an analyst to tell you if a change landed.
- Have strong product judgment and the ability to operate with autonomy. This role exists to take decisions off the founder's plate, not to add a layer that needs steering.
- Have clear, tight specs. You can turn a strategic goal into work that a small engineering team executes without churn.
- Have bias to action and comfort with ambiguity - you'll often decide with incomplete information and correct fast.
- Experience in language learning, ed-tech, or habit-forming daily-use apps.
- A strong design and UX sensibility - you notice when something feels off and care about the details.
- Exposure to content-heavy products and localisation across multiple markets.
Six months in, the product is visibly better - people use it more and stick with it longer - the team ships faster and at a higher bar, and the founder is no longer the bottleneck on product or delivery.
Salary

Join us and be part of the play!
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Game Economy to join our team in Barcelona. Unlike traditional game economy roles focused on a single title, this position will operate as a centralized expert resource across multiple games. You will lead economic strategy on a project basis: analyzing each game, identifying the key opportunities and challenges in its economy, and guiding the design and implementation of sustainable solutions.
In addition, you will play a critical role in building and mentoring in-game economy teams. While you will initially lead the economic development for each project, you will also establish the long-term structures and train internal teams within each game to own and manage the economy independently.
This role is both strategic and hands-on: blending research, analysis, system design, cross-team collaboration, and leadership development.
What You'll Do
You aren't just managing one game; you are the architect of a portfolio. You will step into different projects to diagnose economic health, design robust pricing and reward systems, and then train the local teams to take the reins.
- Drive Portfolio Strategy: You will serve as the shared expert across multiple games, taking full ownership of economic health by identifying gaps and implementing tailored solutions for engagement and business performance.
- Build and Mentor Teams: You will lead the recruitment, mentoring, and training of new in-game economy teams, establishing the long-term structures they need to eventually manage their game's economy independently.
- Design and Simulate: You will use your quantitative expertise to develop predictive models, simulations, and A/B tests that validate design decisions and forecast the impact of new features.
- Collaborate Globally: You will lead cross-functional efforts with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers across different geographies, acting as a cultural and technical bridge to ensure seamless execution.
- Economic Mastery: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Math, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, paired with a proven track record of optimizing complex game economies.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced analytical skills with a "must-have" mastery of Excel; experience with SQL, R, or Python is a significant advantage for deep-dive research.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to grow junior talent into strong economists and lead high-level strategic initiatives across departments.
- F2P Passion: A deep-seated interest in Free-to-Play mechanics and a sophisticated understanding of how to balance player experience with sustainable monetization.
- Additional background in Monetization strategy to complement your economic expertise.
- Experience working on large-scale online, social, or multiplayer games.
- Hybrid working model: we ask you to come to our Barcelona office at least 2 days per week
- A generous 25 days of annual leave, plus public holidays
- Private medical insurance for you and your family to keep your health bar full
- Disability and life insurance
- Choose from the latest iOS or Android device when you join (phone or tablet)
- Free language lessons in English, Spanish and Catalan
- Spotify Premium to add the perfect soundtrack to your adventure
- Legendary social events and parties to let off some steam
- Take-Two Interactive employee stock purchase plan (eligibility criteria applies)
- Professional development budget for skills training
- State of the art gym facilities
- Free breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffee
- Onsite physiotherapist and hairdresser (no wallet needed!)
