JOB MISSION
The Business Development Associate (BDA) is responsible for building and converting a high-quality pipeline of revenue-generating partnerships for Bridge in Africa. Working closely with the Business Development Director (BDD), you’ll learn to lead the full sales cycle — from outreach and discovery to proposal and closing — while progressively gaining autonomy and ownership.
This is a builder’s role for someone with sharp execution skills, commercial instinct, and the hunger to grow into a senior BD leader. You’ll support and co-own key processes across prospecting, engagement, and deal closing, turning ecosystem energy into concrete revenue.
You’ll work cross-functionally with Programs, Finance, Marketing, and senior leadership to convert relationships into results — all while building your skills, confidence, and strategic insight in revenue leadership.
ROLES & CONTRIBUTIONS
Prospecting & Lead Generation (30%)
- Design and execute outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, events, referrals, and more.
- Research, prioritize, and map high-potential organizations aligned with Bridge’s Africa strategy.
- Manage your own outreach using tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Notion, and Google Workspace.
- Contribute to new market entry by testing segments, messages, and lead angles.
- Attend relevant events and use them as lead-generation opportunities.
- You’ll be coached by the BDD to sharpen your outreach strategy and build prospecting muscle over time.
Pipeline Management & Partner Engagement (30%)
- Maintain a clean, qualified pipeline in HubSpot with clear statuses, notes, and follow-up actions.
- Join and gradually co-lead discovery meetings, asking structured questions and capturing key insights.
- Send high-quality recap emails with resources and next steps within 24h.
- Support nurturing strategies to keep leads warm and engaged (e.g., content sharing, events, check-ins).
- You’ll learn to read partner signals, pace follow-ups, and manage your personal nurture queue with increasing independence.
Proposal Development & Deal Closing (30%)
- Support the co-creation of compelling, tailored proposals and budgets that reflect partner priorities.
- Coordinate internal inputs with Programs, Finance, and BD to ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
- Participate in pricing conversations, proposal framing, and early-stage negotiations.
- Support clean handover of signed partnerships to delivery teams.
- Contribute to the annual revenue goal for Africa — with growing ownership as you develop.
- With mentorship from the BDD, you'll progressively lead end-to-end proposal cycles for mid-size opportunities.
CRM, Reporting & Sales Optimization (10%)
- Maintain full CRM hygiene — logging meetings, notes, next steps, proposal statuses, and deal updates.
- Support weekly and monthly reporting on outreach activity, pipeline health, and conversion.
- Analyze funnel performance and suggest improvements to outreach messaging, lead flow, and internal processes.
- You’ll be trained in data discipline and expected to build systems-thinking as part of your growth path.
