Living Stones Foundation is seeking an Innovation Manager to support its Office of Global Affairs by leading initiatives that foster creativity, scale social impact, and integrate emerging technologies into nonprofit operations worldwide.

The Office of Global Affairs is the international engagement arm of Living Stones Foundation, building institutional partnerships with universities, NGOs, governments, and multilateral agencies. Its mission is to create global collaborations that empower nonprofits through digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and innovative solutions that address pressing social challenges across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
Role: Innovation Manager (Volunteer)
As Innovation Manager, you will design and lead strategies that bring creativity and cutting-edge solutions into Living Stones Foundation’s programs and partnerships. Your work will focus on developing innovation pipelines, piloting new ideas, and building collaborative ecosystems that connect technology, data, and social impact.
Key Responsibilities
Innovation Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and oversee the global innovation strategy of the Office of Global Affairs.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies and innovative practices that strengthen nonprofit operations.
- Lead the design and execution of pilot projects, prototypes, and innovation labs in partnership with universities and NGOs.
- Drive projects in digital transformation, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to enhance program outcomes.
- Act as a bridge between Living Stones and international partners to foster innovation-driven collaborations.
- Integrate innovation and digital transformation components into institutional agreements, including research, co-creation of solutions, and knowledge exchange.
- Represent Living Stones Foundation at conferences, panels, and international forums on innovation, AI, and data for social good.
- Develop frameworks to measure the impact of innovation projects and ensure scalability across regions.
- Capture and share lessons learned, building a knowledge base of best practices for nonprofit innovation.
- Promote a culture of experimentation, creativity, and agility within global teams.
- Mentor and guide junior advisors, analysts, and volunteers working on innovation and data-driven projects.
- Encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration between data, AI, and program teams.
- Build innovation communities of practice within and beyond the organization.
- Strong background in Innovation Management, Technology, Business, or Data Science.
- Demonstrated experience in digital transformation projects, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Experience in innovation strategy, design thinking, and nonprofit or startup ecosystems.
- Proven ability to lead innovation and technology-driven projects from idea to implementation.
- Excellent skills in partnership building, facilitation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written).
- Passion for nonprofit leadership, global cooperation, and social innovation.
- Previous experience working with NGOs, universities, governments, or international organizations.
- Familiarity with impact evaluation, entrepreneurship, or co-creation methodologies.
- Knowledge of funding models for innovation and technology projects in the nonprofit and social impact space.
- Play a strategic leadership role in driving nonprofit innovation on a global scale.
- Lead projects in digital transformation, AI, and data science that generate measurable impact.
- Collaborate with universities, NGOs, and multilateral organizations to co-create solutions.
- Contribute to the digital and social transformation of nonprofits in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
- Gain international experience in innovation ecosystems, AI for social good, and global affairs.
- Receive a certificate of participation and a formal recommendation letter upon successful completion.
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: Flexible (minimum 20 hours/week)
- Meetings: Biweekly (30–45 minutes)
- Duration: Minimum 6 months (possibility of extension)
- Languages: English and Spanish
