The role of a Business Development Representative at Canonical

En la unidad de SECURITY MANAGERS de Telefónica Cybersecurity & Cloud Tech realizamos la interlocución con grandes cuentas de todos los temas asociados a los servicios de ciberserguridad que ofrece Telefonica Tech, trasladamos las problemáticas de seguridad de nuestros clientes a nuestros grupos operativos para conseguir dar una respuesta a medida y acorde a las necesidades del cliente, adaptamos los servicios que presta Telefónica Tech a las necesidades de los clientes elaborando cuadros de mando e informes a medida que permitan a los directores o responsables de la ciberseguridad tener una visión global del estado de seguridad de sus empresas, y asesoramos a los departamentos de seguridad de los clientes sobre nuestros servicios, experiencias y visión transversal de la ciberseguridad.

¿CÓMO SERÁ TU DÍA A DÍA?

Tu misión será ser responsable de la medición y reporte de los KPIs de cada subservicio. Definirá nuevos KPIs con cada uno de los subservicios con los Service Manager de Telefónica y los directores del cliente. Reportará el cumplimiento de SLAs. Definirá las especificaciones del Portal del servicio y trabajará en la creación de los Dashboards e informes. De forma proactiva ofrecerá nuevos indicadores y gráficos a los responsables de los subservicios y del SOC. Tendrá dedicación de jornada completa al servicio en 8x5, de lunes a viernes.

Tu día a día:

• Medición y reporte de los KPIs de cada subservicio.
• Definirá nuevos KPIs con cada uno de los subservicios.
• Reportar el cumplimiento de SLAs.
• Definir las especificaciones del Portal del servicio.
• Creación de los Dashboards e informes.

We are hiring a Lead Data Governance Engineer with focus on data governance policies, processes, standards, and monitoring in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory frameworks, e.g., GDPR, DPA, ISO, etc. A successful candidate will develop Python-based tooling to automate the operations of an internal data mesh solution such as data labeling and quality metrics in a data, access management and data security best practices.

This is a unique opportunity to use your software engineering and cryptography skills to build and maintain the security foundation that enables Ubuntu and its users to operate securely and remain compliant to international information security standards such as FIPS 140-3 and Common Criteria. You will use your applied cryptography, Linux Security, and coding skills to enhance the Ubuntu distribution and work with organizations such as DISA and CIS to draft and implement security hardening benchmarks for Ubuntu.

As a member of the Security Hardening team you will work with and develop automation tooling to audit deployed systems for DISA-STIG and CIS benchmark compliance. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders to identify gaps in our frameworks, and develop new solutions to address these challenges. In this role you will have the opportunity to influence team and security culture, facilitate technical delivery, and help drive team direction and execution. You'll collaborate closely with Canonical's kernel team as well as the wider engineering organization to drive features impacting all Ubuntu users.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Collaborate with other engineers in the Security Hardening team to achieve and retain various Security certifications
• Extend and enhance Linux cryptographic components (OpenSSL, Libgcrypt, GnuTLS, and others) with the features and functionality required for FIPS and CC certification
• Collaborate with external security consultants to test and validate kernel and crypto module components
• Work with external partners to develop security hardening benchmarks and audit + remediation automation for Ubuntu
• Contribute to Ubuntu mainline and upstream projects to land solutions and benefit the community
• Communication and collaboration within and outside Canonical to identify opportunities to improve our security posture, rapidly resolve issues, and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule
  
  

What we are looking for in you

• Hands-on experience with low-level Linux cryptography APIs and debugging
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including prior experience with C development, and the ability to demonstrate such
• Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting
• Demonstrated knowledge of security and cryptography fundamentals + direct experience writing secure code and implementing best practices
• Significant development experience working with open source libraries
• Excellent verbal and written communications to enable efficient collaboration with internal and external partners in a remote-first environment

• Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms with inputs on technical plans, testing strategy, quality metrics
• Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge
• Help our customers integrate their apps, SDKs, build device OS images, optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop and Server

We are hiring a Lead Data Governance Engineer with focus on data governance policies, processes, standards, and monitoring in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory frameworks, e.g., GDPR, DPA, ISO, etc. A successful candidate will develop Python-based tooling to automate the operations of an internal data mesh solution such as data labeling and quality metrics in a data, access management and data security best practices.

The Data Governance team in the Commercial Systems unit has a mission to enable a secure and well-governed access to comprehensive data sets originating at many internal and external data sources formed in a data mesh. The team works with well-known open-source data governance tools such as Trino and Ranger, defines and executes data governance processes, and democratizes the data at Canonical.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.
