Electric Motor Industrialisation Engineer – Hands-On Manufacturing Lead

We’re looking for an Electric Motor Industrialisation Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team focused on next-generation motor technology. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role with a clear route to Head of Motor Industrialisation.

The role involves developing, testing, and scaling the full manufacturing process for electric motors, including rotor and stator assembly, adhesives, coil winding, and end-of-line motor testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and industrialise electric motor manufacturing processes
• Lead process engineering for rotor and stator assembly
• Work on coil/winding insertion, stator pressing, and laser welding of windings
• Apply adhesives for magnets, windings, and other motor components
• Set up and oversee end-of-line (EOL) motor testing
• Create work instructions, jigs/fixtures, and prototype tooling
• Collaborate with design, test, and quality teams to validate production readiness

Essential Experience:

• Strong background in electric motor assembly and manufacturing engineering
• Hands-on experience with rotors with permanent magnets, including safe handling and balancing
• Skilled in coil insertion, stator assembly, and laser welding
• Knowledge of adhesive bonding techniques for motor components
• Experience setting up EOL testing for motors
• Background in EV, automotive, aerospace, or industrial motor production

Nice to Have:

• Experience launching a new motor production line or pilot manufacturing system
• Familiarity with DfM, process validation, and automated motor assembly
• Exposure to high-spec applications: e-mobility, motorsport, aerospace

This role suits someone who wants full ownership of motor production processes and is comfortable building a function from the ground up. You’ll be central to shaping how motors are built at scale.
