Superside Software Engineer (React/Frontend)
Looking to lead a forward-thinking tech team? Are you into building tools that actually ease processes and operation activities? All while working within a global remote community?
Welcome. We’ve been expecting you.
Superside is a tech-enabled service company that focuses on enabling Design as a service to an entirely new scale.
We’re building Superspace, our in-house DesignOps system that allows our creatives to focus on their design instead of wasting time and energy in never-ending meetings.
What does it mean exactly? Think of us as two parts of the same medal. On one side, we have our teams of creatives, they provide amazing design assets and support to big companies on a subscription basis. On the other side, we have our software. We built an in-house collaboration platform to work with our customers. We get seamless and productive remote creative collaboration and project management across the world thanks to features like briefing, project management, staffing, design feedback and asset delivery.
What difference does it make? We’re able to leverage our remote working model to provide faster delivery without compromising the quality of the design work. All thanks to technology.
This is where you come into play.
We are growing quickly and looking for software engineers at all levels on all our teams across product and infrastructure. Most of our software engineers would describe themselves as a T-shaped engineer with one skill they are expert it (e.g. frontend, backend or devops), and multiple skills they are familiar with.
Some of the things you’ll be actively involved with:
- Building, testing and shipping features like chat, staffing, project management, design collaboration, integrations, workflow editor and more
- Be part of important product discussions, and discuss with product managers, ux designers and other engineers
- Creating and contributing to technical specs and testing/rollout plans
- Mentoring and supporting team mates to help them grow
- Be part of important technical difficult discussions
- Ability to communicate in English (both verbally and written)
The tech platform we are building
Superside is right now in a unique position to expand on existing deep customer relationships and we are gradually introducing a customizable creative operations system – specifically built for the large-scale enterprise use case. The first iterations of many of these elements are already in place.
This “Creative OS” is structured around 4 distinct functional areas:
Drag&Drop Brief Editor: The customer can configure their own creative briefs per product and define rules for who should be allowed to submit projects.
Assignment, Planning & Project Management: The customer can create automatic assignment rules for incoming projects (e.g. all critical deadline projects should go to Superside) or decide on a per project basis inside the Superside PM tool who should do what. The customer can also plan campaigns, chat internally on an “Epic” level and manage their own non-Superside projects.
Project Execution, Design Commenting & Collaboration: The most important part of the Superside app is the actual project execution, where Superside should impose an opinionated process for how creative projects should be executed in various stages. Commenting by multiple team members should be made easy and centered around the creative use case.
Output, File Management & Result Measurement: Finally, all creative projects need to go where customers can see them, and Superside should make it easy to output projects to Digital Assets Managers, Marketing Clouds, Ad Servers or FB/Google ad managers. The dream is for Superside to eventually “close the loop” and link the actual project result performance back to the creative that has worked on the file.
Along every step of the 4-step framework the customer will also be given the opportunity to create workflows and automations. Inside the Superside’s workflow editor, the customer can break down complex projects into milestones, decision points and automated integrations (e.g. «add final file to DAM», «create Facebook ad-group using final output» or «push final file to email marketing software»). When the customer creates a new project, they select the right workflow template to get started. By automating the process, the customer is free from having to update old process documents and to know what to do when and. Work items are sent to the participants notifying them of what they have new to do, and integrations are executed automatically.
Need more convincing? Here’s a skimmable, non-exhaustive list of reasons to join us:
- A global community of talented people working from more than 70 different countries.
- Flexible working hours from anywhere in the world. All you need is access to the internet.
- Work closely with leading global brands. We’re talking Amazon, Salesforce, Spotify and a lot more.
- A career path towards increased responsibility, mentorship and leadership. We grow, you grow.
- Continuous learning, development, and certification in our global Academy.
- A unique opportunity to combine and develop within Account Management, Project Management, Marketing and Creative.
- A trusting, ego-free and truth-seeking environment.
- A high-pace, high-energy, and high-performance environment,
- Pioneering the future of work with a fair, friendly and supportive community. We’re pretty proud of that one.
- Disrupting a massive global industry with a huge market opportunity.
What your first months will look like:
1st month: This is the time for your onboarding. You get to know how Superside works and is organized. You’ll meet other Supersiders that are starting at the same time as you. The usual new Supersider batch is between 20 and 50 people. Next to the general onboarding, you meet your teammates.
2nd month: Begin building and leading our team of engineers and Managers. Working alongside the VP and other Directors on our strategic roadmap.
After 3 months: You already work pretty smoothly with your teams. You’re familiar with our values and use these as the springboard for organization building.
Hiring process:
We want to make sure we hire the right people so we created a hiring process that will help us understand if we’re the right fit for one another. We are remote and it’s critical that we hire self-reliant, autonomous people. Everyone from the team has been through the process. Be assured that by joining Superside, you’ll be part of a talented team, cherry-picked among the best out there.
- Our first introduction: 45min introduction call. No need for any formal prep beforehand, we’re here to get to know each other enough to see if we’re a potential good match.
- Meet and greet: First interaction with the Management team. It lasts around 1 hour and our goal is to dive deeper into your skills, experience, and motivation while explaining who we are as a company and how we work.
- Case study presentation: This will consist of a 1-hour discussion regarding your case assignment. This is your chance to walk us through your work and the logic behind it. We will share the link to the case with you and provide you with a week to prep for the interview. During the discussion, you will be given the opportunity to present your thoughts on the case and the team will be able to ask questions. We want to make sure we’re the right place for you as much as you’re the right fit for us, so fire away!
- Ability assessment: The ability tests have been selected to measure the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the role.
- Final interview: The last meeting with the Management team will last around 1 hour and it’s another chance to talk about our mutual expectations, address any concerns, and dive deeper into how you could be successful leading a team in Superside. At this stage, it is clear we want you! We’ll make sure you want to join us too.
Life at Superside’s TPD (Tech, Product & Design department)
You made it this far. We’re impressed! Let us tell you a bit more about Life at Superside and especially Life in the Tech, Product and Design (TPD) department. Our TPD team is remote and contains multiple self-directed and cross-functional teams fully distributed across EMEA, LATAM & APAC. The members represent 14 nationalities with alumni from Adobe, Revolut, Yandex and Mail.ru, BlockFi, Typeform and many more.
We are intellectually curious and creative thinkers, eager to grow and ready to make a big impact in the world. We analyze data, talk to users, prototype and iterate. We don’t need offices, our conversations happen in Google Meets and Slack. We focus on discovering and solving real-world user problems, not just building and shipping features.
Teams at Superside own the complete software lifecycle starting from the roadmap, implementation, testing, deployment and operations. We foster an open feedback culture and Everyone’s opinion is important to push our common mission forward. As a member of our engineering team you’ll take on a key role in this process and see your work be used by amazing companies.
On a company wide level, we make sure that working remotely doesn’t mean working alone without ever meeting your peers. We take great pride in our company culture. We have a team dedicated to people's care with an emphasis on wellness and connectivity. You can expect Quiz night, Gala’s, Coffee meet up and Cultural session to learn more about your teammates culture and country. You’re passionate about a subject, there’s probably an internal slack community about it. Whether you want to talk music, crypto or play DnD, we got you covered.

All of this supports us in our mission to power the world’s marketers with trusted and impactful advertising.
All new Criteo products are built in a self-service first perspective, which help us collect client's feedbacks as quickly as possible to make them autonomous. In particular, in order to extend our reach, we are always looking for new ways to onboard clients and partners. This can be by making the setup of your first Criteo Ads easy as a breeze, or by providing developers who wants to use our APIs all the tools they need to build and manage their applications.
The Web Apps Elements team is creating the building blocks of web applications for other teams to consume: it is in particular in charge of the Criteo Design System.
What You'll Do
- Get the functional needs from the UX/UI team, iterate with them to design user friendly components, layouts and interfaces,
- Implement what has been designed,
- Test the applications with unitary, integration and end to end tests,
- Review code of team members to ensure we commit only high-quality code,
- Interact with multiple multi-cultural R&D teams to ensure the right communication between the client-facing applications and the other Criteo systems,
- Evangelize the proper use of our design system in the other teams developing web applications, through advice, training and audits
Our applications are mostly built using Angular + Material (and tested with Jest and Cypress.io), but knowledge of other frameworks, especially React, is a plus.
Who You Are
- You are strongly interested in User Experience, and in building the best possible experience for all: you always wonder whether it would work on mobile or with screen-readers.
- You love sharing with others, and helping them to make great what was only good
- Semantic HTML, CSS tricks and Typescript features hold no mysteries for you.
- You are curious about new technologies, eventually leading personal subjects on the matter
- You have worked in Agile environments and are passionate about shipping high quality code!
- You will be part of a recognized engineering R&D team in our industry with an active presence to international conferences, meetups and demos all around the globe
- Our culture keeps evolving, and you will be expected to contribute actively with new ideas to complement and enhance the existing programs that include frictionless internal mobility, 10% time, mentoring, technical talks, hackathons, etc.

- You will benefit of a competitive package, healthcare insurance and meal tickets (tickets restaurant)
