EL IMPACTO QUE GENERARÁS

El equipo de Seguridad Ofensiva Global (Security Assurance) está buscando un/a Red Teamer para nuestras oficinas ubicadas en Boadilla (CGS).

Su objetivo principal es la simulación de adversarios, ejecutando ataques de una manera realista y enfocada a la identificación de vulnerabilidades y posibles fallos en los controles de seguridad, además de la revisión de las capacidades de detección y respuesta.

En este puesto, tus principales responsabilidades incluirán:

Desarrollar un profundo conocimiento en técnicas ofensivas avanzadas (red/purple teaming).
Crear planes y ejecutar pruebas detalladas y metodologías para realizar actividades de hacking ético adaptadas a los sistemas e infraestructura específicos de Santander.
Analizar los resultados de las pruebas y proporcionar retroalimentación a los propietarios de los servicios/infraestructura y partes interesadas.
Mantener la infraestructura y crear las herramientas necesarias para la ejecución de las operaciones ofensivas.
Estar al día en inteligencia de amenazas, simulación de adversarios y gestión de vulnerabilidades.
Colaborar con varios grupos para realizar un seguimiento de los planes de remediación de los issues identificados durante los ejercicios.
Ayudar en la respuesta a incidentes proporcionando experiencia y conocimientos adquiridos a partir de las actividades del equipo.

This is a fast-paced engineering role in Linux-based software-defined infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM) and containerization (Docker and LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN and Core networking), up to OpenStack and Kubernetes, and the open source applications running on top of them.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

This role deals with critical issues in the open source stack that require deep debugging and troubleshooting skills. Our engineers have to be able to work productively at any level of the stack above the kernel, in a wide range of applications, to understand and address the software issues at hand. Our group is critical to the success of our enterprise customers, partners and Ubuntu itself.

You will be the final point of escalation for operational troubleshooting and driving issues to resolution with workarounds, guidance, and fixes to be released upstream and in Ubuntu.

Key job responsibilities

In This Role You Will

Work collaboratively with other scientists and developers to design and implement scalable and reliable pipelines for ensuring our vast knowledge base of books meets the highest levels of accuracy and is aligned with how customers think about books;
set the scientific roadmap needed to sustain state-of-the-art quality and efficiency. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and adopt the most appropriate long-term solution to a variety of use cases.
set the standard for science rigor and quality, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and mentor other members to achieve their career growth potential.
Drive scalable solutions: from understanding the customer and business needs, to prototyping, production testing and through engineering directly to production.

A day in the life

Day-to-day work varies, but on a typical day you will:

run (or supervise) experiments. Depending on the stage or project, this may involve designing the experiments, collecting data, training models, prompt/spec engineering/optimization, error analysis, online system analysis, etc.
drive decisions by interpreting and communicating experimental results with stakeholders (managers, subject matter experts, other scientists, and engineers) and seeking/listening to their feedback.
strategic thinking: review results, identify trends and what step-changes are needed.

You'll contribute to regular meetings, activities and conferences with the wider science team, organization as well as internal and external communities.

The team consists of a collaborative group of scientists, product leaders, and dedicated engineering teams. Our aim is to maintain the world’s most accurate and descriptive set of books metadata, where every title in our catalog is uniquely characterized via a set of high-quality, concise attributes. We work with sister teams to leverage our systems to drive a diverse array of customer experiences, owned both by ourselves and others, that enable customers to easily identify their ideal next read.

Basic Qualifications

PhD, or a Master's degree and experience in CS, CE, ML or related field
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience in building models for business application
Experience in investigating, designing, prototyping, and delivering new and innovative system solutions
Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
Experience working in a fast paced, quickly changing or international environment
Experience owning end-to-end programs to drive results

Preferred Qualifications

PhD
Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Experience in professional software development
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
Experience with in one or more of: Generative AI, LLM-as-judge, Knowledge Graphs, prompt optimization, agentic workflows, LLM interpretability.

We are hiring a Software Maintenance Engineer to…

…work in a dynamic and exciting engineering role in Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN and Core networking), OpenStack, Kubernetes and the open source applications running on top of them. It will challenge you to show the breadth of your engineering skills, which will be needed to work on almost any aspect of Ubuntu and the open source applications large enterprise customers run.

This role is an opportunity for a technologist with a passion for Linux and open source to build a career with Canonical and drive success for our customers, community and the company. This role deals with critical issues in the open source stack that require upstream bug fixes. Our engineers are able to work productively at any level of the stack including the kernel and in a wide range of languages, to understand and address the software issues at hand. Our group is critical to the success of our customers, partners and Ubuntu itself.

You will help with troubleshooting and driving issues to resolution with workarounds, guidance, and bug fixes to be released upstream and in Ubuntu.

Location: This is a remote role, we have teams in all time zones.

The role entails

Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software
Maintain a close working relationship with Canonical's Field, Support and product engineering teams
Participate in upstream communities
Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion
Review code produced by other engineers
Demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques
Prioritize work and manage your time effectively against those priorities
Participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation
Maintain clear, technical and concise communications
Work from home and travel internationally up to 10% of work time for team meetings, events and conferences

What we are looking for in you

An exceptional academic track record
Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar
Experience with Linux and open source software
Experience with at least one of Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
A drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues
Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
