They are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Learning to lead educational excellence across a group of schools in Spain. You will be the driving force behind curriculum innovation, teacher development, and the continuous improvement of student outcomes.
This is a high-impact leadership role within the School Support Team Executive, requiring a blend of strategic vision and hands-on collaboration. You will join a global team dedicated to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and a holistic student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula across the region.
- Drive a continuous cycle of curriculum refinement, ensuring alignment with international best practices and personalised learning pathways.
- Lead professional development initiatives, establishing a robust framework for coaching, feedback, and continuous learning to enhance teaching quality.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching standards through regular classroom observations and collaboration with school leadership teams.
- Communicate the academic vision effectively to parents, senior leadership, and external agencies.
- Travel significantly across Spain and Europe to collaborate with international Directors and Global Education leadership.
- Ensure that safeguarding and child protection remain a primary focus in all educational and operational activities.
Who You Are
You are a passionate educator and an inspiring leader with a proven track record of driving change in international school environments. You understand the commercial drivers of private education and possess the cultural sensitivity to navigate diverse educational and linguistic contexts.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree or higher qualification in Educational Improvement or a related field.
- Senior leadership experience in an international school environment, ideally across multiple systems such as the International Baccalaureate, British, or Spanish and bilingual curricula.
- Proven experience in curriculum review, quality assurance, and leading large teams of educators with a focus on professional growth.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Resilient, adaptable, and highly motivated with a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
- Proficiency with educational technologies and an understanding of how they enhance the learning experience.
Desirable Attributes:
- Fluency, or a high level of proficiency, in Spanish.
- Experience working across Europe and understanding various cultural challenges.
Working Environment
This is a hybrid role based at Spain and European offices in Madrid, incorporating office-based, school-based, and home-working elements.
