BNP Paribas EMEA Finance is the central financial hub for the bank’s European operations, managing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk monitoring for over 250 entities across the region. Based in Madrid, our team of 500+ professionals (325+ in Spain) ensures the accuracy and reliability of financial data that underpins the bank’s decision-making.
The Infinity Finance Platform integrates accounting, reporting, controls, and transformation projects, providing a comprehensive view of the bank’s financial health. As part of this team, you’ll gain exposure to retail banking, investment banking, and capital markets, developing a 360° understanding of financial operations in a global context.
🎯 Mission
The Discovery Program is a 13-month rotational training initiative designed to build deep financial expertise through hands-on experience. This is a permanent position that begins with structured rotations to accelerate your integration and skill development.
Your mission will be to:
✅ Support the production and validation of financial data used for accounting, tax, regulatory, and management reporting.
✅ Develop a robust understanding of financial controls, risk provisioning, and compliance across BNP Paribas’ European entities.
✅ Contribute to projects that enhance financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a dynamic banking environment.
This program is ideal for professionals who want to start a long-term career while working in a collaborative, international setting.
🛠️ What Will You Do?
This permanent role begins with a 13-month rotational program, followed by a two-year assignment in your initial team, with opportunities for further growth.
1. Accounting Production (7 months)
Join a Subject Matter Stream (SMS) team, where you’ll:
- Work in either Corporate Accounting & Expenses (fixed assets, payroll, tax, transfer pricing) or Banking Products & Credit Risk (financing activities, provisioning, regulatory reporting).
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity for financial statements, management reporting, and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with upstream teams (e.g., HR, back office) to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
2. Financial Reporting or Controls (4 months)
Transition to a synthesis or oversight role, where you’ll:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze consolidated financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and liquidity metrics.
- Controls: Assess the effectiveness of financial controls, identifying risks and proposing improvements.
3. Transversal Projects (2 months)
Contribute to process improvement or transformation initiatives, such as:
- Developing automated validation tools for financial data.
- Supporting system enhancements to streamline reporting or controls.
After completing the rotations, you’ll return to your initial SMS team for a two-year assignment, with a permanent contract and opportunities for further career progression.

- Structured training tailored to your development needs.

🔍 What Do You Need?
Technical Skills & Experience
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 0–2 years in finance, accounting, audit, or consulting (multinational experience is a plus).
- Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with IFRS; French GAAP is beneficial.
- Tools: Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF); experience with Business Objects required. SAP/Oracle or programming (Python, SQL) is a plus.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends or anomalies.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and improving processes.
