Job Purpose:

La persona se incorporará a la unidad de in vitro de Global Health medicines R&D. Se integrará en las funciones diarias del equipo, apoyando a los proyectos activos en la unidad. Trabajará en colaboración con el resto de los miembros del equipo, requiriéndose excelentes habilidades de comunicación y de trabajo en equipo. En particular estará involucrada en proyectos para el descubrimiento de fármacos en malaria. El trabajo incluirá la evaluación regular in vitro de compuestos, la determinación de la viabilidad de parásitos y curvas de muerte, identificación de dianas terapéuticas, la estimación de resistencia a fármacos y el desarrollo de nuevos ensayos.

Los estudiantes se formarán en técnicas específicas relacionadas con las asignaturas de Biología Celular, Microbiología, Bioquímica y parasitología. Esto incluirá:

• Cultivo y manejo de células de mamífero y P. falciparum.
• Diseño, realización y análisis de ensayos de infección.
• Análisis cuantitativo de la potencia de compuestos utilizando software especializado.
• Presentación y síntesis de resultados de investigaciones.
  
  
  

Requisitos mínimos:

• Grado en Bioquímica, Grado en Microbiología, Grado en Biología, Grado en farmacia.
• Nivel C1 de Inglés.
• Altas dotes comunicativas.
