The IMS Laboratory (CNRS UMR 5218) at the University of Bordeaux invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in the field of biosourced encapsulation for organic photovoltaic modules. This opportunity is part of the national BioFlexPV project and offers a unique chance to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy technologies.

Project Overview

– Design and evaluation of bio-based encapsulation films for various photovoltaic technologies, including organic, perovskite, CIGS, and c-Si.

– Development of advanced barrier property characterization tools (WVTR, OTR).

– Investigation of material aging under environmental stressors such as UV exposure, oxygen, and humidity.

– Integration and testing of encapsulation materials in organic photovoltaic devices.

– Conducting failure analysis and providing feedback for materials optimization.

Candidate Requirements

– Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

– Demonstrated experience in thin films, device fabrication, and materials characterization.

– Strong experimental skills and a keen interest in developing new tools and techniques.

– Familiarity with organic electronics and spectroscopy is considered an asset.
